Account locked for over 2 weeks and going around in circles

Played here for a couple of months.

14th Feb - account locked and received email from Pablo M in Responsible Gambling requiring an answer to two questions and a tax return/payslip. Answered the two questions within the hour and directed to page to upload tax return. Upload done alongside driving licence.


Couple of days later:

“Thank you for your cooperation with the verification of your account, however we are unable to use the documents you have sent to validate your details as the document is not fully visible.

Please check the clarity of your documents and ensure that all pictures and relevant details are visible and readable before resending.”


The tax return was a HMRC PDF and my driving licence pic taken on the latest iPhone camera. No indication of what wasn’t clear but anyway, retook the pictures of my licence and reuploaded both. Despite responding immediately to the responsible gambling email and uploading personal, extremely sensitive documents about myself, I receive an email the day after:

“During the last days we have tried to contact you several times. Unfortunately we have not received a reply from you so far.

I have temporarily closed your 888sport account until you have replied to our emails and addressed our concerns.“


Emails to this department go unanswered and no one can tell me what is going on.

I have been unable to access my account / money for over two weeks now and I’m just going around in circles with them.

Dear all,

We regret to inform you that following the submitter's confirmation that the issue, subject to this dispute, has already been raised with the relevant regulatory body and, taking into account the fact that the parties did not reach a mutual agreement of settling the dispute, the AskGamblers Complaint Team has no other option but to close this complaint as unresolved. As a direct consequence of such closure, the operator's ranking score on AskGamblers will be decreased accordingly. 

As soon as the AskGamblers Complaint Team is notified about the regulator's final decision on the case, we will comply and mark this complaint accordingly.

So in a nutshell, they wait 21 days to tell me the pdf I uploaded and emailed was passworded (it 100% is not passworded) in order to delay me by another 21 days.

First time the document was unreadable, second time the document was apparently passworded.

I have forwarded this information to the U.K. Gambling Commission Compliance team.

Askgamblers, hopefully their tactics are clear here. Is there anything you can do? It’s been 37 days in which they have locked my account and using these tactics

Unbelievable.

Received a reply from 888 saying:

“ Thank you for your cooperation with the verification of your account; however, we are unable to use the documents you have sent to validate your details as it cannot be accepted to verify your account because the file you sent has a password. ”

The pdf 100% does not have a password. I have both emailed the tax return and uploaded it via the upload system.

Ask gamblers - please can you advise what I can do next?

Again, there is no password (100%) on the documents - this is a stalling tactic or some other strange tactic from them,
