Totem Wild is a very interesting 20-payline slot from Cayetano that deals with the great theme of American Indian culture and mainly focus on the very characteristic Totem columns. I said it’s unique because the symbols which all kind of coloured totems don’t appear on the reels in traditional ways but it pretends as we really see such columns and they come to the reels in continuous format similar to the stacked symbols. They have head and body parts and really look good especially the artwork heads and the stacked Wild pictogram is more decorative and the only non-totem symbol, Buffalo is also a nicely drawn icon. The used colours are also greatly chosen even of the Wild’s so the overall appearance is very imaginative and at the same time it’s very attractive. I like this interface because of used uncommon pictorial elements and their appearing method and it’s cool to play with a little bit different looking game.

It seems for me the best attribute the game has applied only to the displaying scheme because the working system of the game segment not exactly what I want to see and I don’t think it would be a well-made one. Because the symbols come to the reels in stacked format so many simultaneous wins may occur per spin and that’s why it would be understandable the seemingly poor paying ability and the numbers on the paytable but the 20 times of line bet what the best paying totem can provide not just seemingly weak but it’s really laughable. With these kind of capability it’s absolute no strange that the slot overall is very, very bad paying one and if I consider that the winning tendency of the game is also well below the average limit, I guess I can easily say this is a terrible product in moneywise standpoint.

I believe the truth of this statement even if I haven’t spoken about the features the slot offers which wouldn’t be bad at all but this time the game settings and their appearing frequency are the ones that hold me back to change my mind. Just like the totems the Wild also comes to the reels is stacked format and if all three parts are visible on a reel we’re awarded randomly chosen re-spins which can be 1-8 while the Wilds remain locked down on that reel. Most of the cases such kind of Wild does that when land on the fourth or fifth reels and needless to say how it decreases the chances to win some than if it would appear on the first reels. Because of the poor payouts of normal symbols one stacked Wild doesn’t really mean any positive differences unless during re-spins another Wild(s) appear on other reels but based on my experience with the game, it not too many times happens and secondly I have once won more than 20 times of my total bet so it definitely won’t make us real satisfied. Once I got 4 re-spins with the first and third reels were covered with Wilds and another substitute symbols appeared on the second and fourth reels (11 positions out of 15 were turned into Wilds for one spin) and I even couldn’t pocket more than €38 at the end of this special run.

Buffalo is the free spin triggering symbol but it’s one of the less activated such kind of bonus I’ve ever seen. I think I saw it in work only the second or third tries on the game and I suppose we all can agree that a good feature doesn’t work like this. Anyway, the free spins consist of 7-14 spins (strangely 13 spins are not available to play) which are played with the same conditions as the base game was.

Overall, this slot is a massive disappointment for me. It doesn’t matter how much I love the theme and the inspired look of the game but all messed up with the awful payouts and the entire game segment. I don’t know how it can be possible that creators can’t realize such bad terms by which the game is working and to suggest them something maybe if the game were pay using both direction I think that would have been a dramatic upgrade and it’s just one thing. I really hope sooner or later they are going to realize their mistake and fix some issues here but until then I don’t think I would be a frequently seen guest here and I’m saying once again it’s a shame because the appearance quality of the game would deserve a much better working game section.
