Marathon running me in circles will not verify my account or payout
Marathonbet won't pay me the 308,280K euros that they owe me.
I signed up with in the end of April 2026 from Costa Rica. I never asked for a bonus. I never touched a bonus.
On 25 of April they requested my identification and utility bill. Both were accepted. I made my first deposit on this date.
From 25 of April to 21 of June I deposited 8 times by crypto of different methods. All amounts in euros at time of deposit.
* june 21 usdc erc20: 17,176.95
* june 20 usdc erc20: 17,176.95
* june 18 usdc erc20: 42,941.76
* june 12 btc: 91,191.37
* june 3 tron trx: 37,404.91
* may 22 usdt erc20: 34,438.35
* april 29 usdt trc20: 17,154.98
* april 25 eth: 24,817.52
My account was down 282,302.79 euros
My next deposit was
* july 4 usdt erc20: 43,110.00
Marathonbet had no issues with my account at the time of that deposit.
Over the next few weeks my luck turned and I went on a run for the end of the world cup.
I ran my balance up and took my first payout.
* july 15: 50,000.00
I continued to win and three weeks later took another payout.
* august 6: 180,000.00
I hit a couple of parlays on club friendlies. And attempted to take a payout for 228,000.00 on August 9. That's when the problems started. I was "randomly" selected for a security check.
First they wanted a copy of my ID and my utility bill. I had already sent to this on April 25 and they were verified at the time. But they have my money so I sent the documents again.
When I try to login to the site I find out that they've blocked access to the regular website. I can only login through the mobile site and have to upload documents there.
After I complied with the request, they asked for screenshots of my crypto wallet, this is still on August 9.
I don't understand why they think they have a right to see my personal financial information but I complied anyway. Sent the screenshots from the July 4 deposit. That was the deposit the funds were won on and the last deposit I made in over a month.
On August 11, They ask for "high quality screenshots from the full version of the website". The wallet I used on my computer is a chrome extension. So I load it up on my iphone and send those. I also send an email saying none of this makes sense. I get auto-response generic emails.
On August 13, after uploading more documents I get an email that says "to complete the verification, please provide screenshots confirming your deposits for the period from June 3 to June 21." I upload the screenshots from each wallet on those dates.
On August 14 Marathon sends a new email that says "To complete the verification of your account, please provide us with a photo of you holding your national passport, opened to the page containing your photo and passport serial number next to your face and in front of this email opened in your browser/application." This is a crazy request but they have my money so what am I supposed to do? Because Marathonbet is now asking for a new piece of verification I assume that my crypto wallet deposits were accepted.
Over the next 36 hours I send multiple versions of this selfie image. Marathonbet comes up with multiple reasons why the selfie isn't good enough. File size too small. They can't see sender name on the email on the laptop. Sometimes it's vague rejections like "not all information in the photograph is clearly visible and legible." In the end I had to get a photographer with a professional camera to come over and take the pictures because they weren't accepting anything from my phone.
I don't hear anything back for hours. Then finally get an email. "Your Marathonbet account has been selected for our standard verification process.
This review is still ongoing and we apologise for the inconvenience.
Thank you for your patience whilst this review continues. We will get in touch with you as soon as it is complete." There's no way this is a standard review. I figured that this was over and they would say my account was verified in the next day.
Then earlier today I receive an email from Marathon requesting all my crypto deposits again. Even though they accepted them earlier. But this time they want information that's either impossible to get or goes far beyond any verification check and is such an invasion of my privacy.
They're requesting.
"confirmation of all transactions made to your gaming account.
Transactions requiring confirmation:
- 29/04/2026 - €17,154.98 (USDT - TRC20)
- 22/05/2026 - €34,438.35 (USDT - ERC20)
- 12/06/2026 - €91,191.37 (BTC)
- 18/06/2026 - €42,941.76 (USDT - ERC20)
- 20/06/2026 - €17,176.95 (USDT - ERC20)
- 21/06/2026 - €17,176.95 (USDT - ERC20)
Please note that, in order to verify these transactions, we also require confirmation of the cryptocurrency wallets from which the above transfers were made.
If the cryptocurrency wallet supports an extended (desktop) version, the wallet ownership must be confirmed using the desktop version.
To confirm ownership of the registered cryptocurrency wallet, please additionally provide screenshots proving your ownership of the payment method/service used to purchase the cryptocurrencies.
The screenshots must include:
- A screenshot showing the account holder's personal details;
- A screenshot showing the relevant transactions.
"
1. I already gave them confirmation of the transactions and they accepted it. So this is as they say moving the goal posts.
2. Because exchanges like kraken or binance DO NOT ALLOW deposits to sportsbooks I need to use swaps to protect my accounts. How am I supposed to gain access to swap accounts? They know this is an impossible ask which is why they're asking it.
3. What is proof of ownership of crypto? This isn't a bank. I was able to produce every piece of information they requested. My name is on the wallets. It is clear they're mine. Again they're asking for documentation that's not possible. If they demand people deposit from services like coinbase they should specify that on the deposit form and also notify customers it is very possible you will lose your crypto account because all crypto exchanges say no sportsbook transactions in their T&C. Marathonbet knows. They had no problems with my deposits when I was down a couple hundred thousand.
4. "ownership of the payment method/service used to purchase the cryptocurrencies." What is this? Who is buying crypto? I've been in the crypto space since almost the beginning. I haven't done a fiat for crypto transaction in over a decade and the services I used at the time don't even exist anymore. If you got into crypto early you have a lot of crypto. I don't need to provide them with my private crypto stash so I can get hacked. This is crazy. If they operate in the crypto space they know this. Again none of this stuff is stated when you deposit. If it was I, and many other people, would never play there.
Based on Marathonbet's behavior over the last two weeks the only reasonable assumption is that they're trying to confiscate my winnings and looking for some reason to do it. I am done playing games. I gave them everything. What they're asking for now is unreasonable, puts me at a security risk, and goes far beyond standard verification. My account balance was nearly empty on July 4 when they took my deposit that my winnings are based on. They had zero issues then. This is sour feelings that they lost money. I did not ask for a bonus. There is no abuse. Marathonbet does not want to pay because I won. And they had no problem with my account for months when I was down a couple hundred thousand.
I am looking for help from Askgamblers. What Marathonbet isn't right and goes far beyond what their standard verification is.
