Random investigation and account verification ongoing for months without any insights
Dear AskGamblers,
On November 23rd, I submitted a withdrawal from Cloudbet Casino. I had been a player on their casino for a while, and managed to withdraw multiple times before without any trouble. I played various slot games developed by the provider Play 'n Go.
I 5 ETH in total, which of 2 ETH I managed to withdraw. And, slightly below 3 ETH is still sitting on Cloudbet to date.
After submitting a withdrawal, I received an email from the Cloudbet team. I had to submit my personal details for verification, which wasn't a problem to me. I sent the photos and documents the day after.
I received a reply: ''Your documentation has just been sent over to the Player Safety team and they will be conducting the verification process in the meantime. As soon as your documents have been verified, we'll notify you via email immediately after''.
I waited about a week, and received no update. I sent an email after which I got a reply they cannot give any timeline as to when my account would be verified. A few days later I found out my account password was changed (not by me) and I sent another email.
I received a reply: ''Your account has been temporarily closed until our player safety team can verify the requested documents.
There's no need to worry though, as your funds have been frozen on the account and will remain there until the verification is complete, at which point you will regain access to your account''.
I have been emailing back and forward with the support team for over two months now. And, I'm still not getting any helpful information as to why my account is frozen and why a verification process needs to take over TWO months. There still is no insight in when my account will be reopened, any emails I sent are pretty much answered with basic FAQ copy+paste answers.
As Ethereum has increased significantly in value the past few months, AND because I have already included this amount in my tax report for 2020, I'm hoping this case can be resolved as soon as possible. So that I'm not left in the dark.
At this point, I feel AskGamblers is the only place I'm gonna get the support I'm looking for. Or at least more eyes onto this case, to make players think a second time before signing up and wait to find out if a case like this gets resolved at all.
Hoping to receive more information asap.
