Overcharged on First Deposit
I made my first deposit with Bovada for $1,000 and was charged $1,058.39. That's 5.84% more than what I should have been charged, since the first deposit has no fees.
I contacted my credit card company to verify that they did not charge me the extra $58.39. They said they did not, that the charge came from the merchant. There is a separate charge of $31.75 for foreign transaction fees on my card, which was to be expected
I've contacted Bovada customer support about this several times, by email and phone. I was asked to submit my credit card statement, which I did. I then received an email response asking me to call support, and when I did, it was clear that they hadn't even looked at the documentation. They then said they needed even more time to investigate. A couple days later, I received a form response saying "We reviewed the transaction and we determined that the extra charge was a foreign transactions fee from your bank. "
I've spent far more time than anyone should have to spend trying to get this issue resolved. I've been asked to call support repeatedly, only to be told that Bovada needed more time to investigate. I have to call just for them to tell me that? Additionally, after I stated I would be disputing the charge with my credit card company, Bovada disabled my account, and I had to spend nearly an hour on the phone with support just to get it reinstated.
Bottom line, Bovada needs to make things right by refunding me the extra $58.39 they charged me.
