Overcharged On Deposit, Account Closed And Then My Deposit Stolen
I've been a faithful sports bettor with Bovada for years now, ALWAYS losing money and never trying to withdraw money... Had I known that this is how I'd be treated I'd never EVER give Bovada my business or hard-earned money. Let's begin:
First I make a debit card deposit of $100 and I'm charged $17 dollars... So I call in, spend over 100 minutes on hold, then I'm told by the "supervisor" Carl (sp?), "this is our billing descriptor, but not the one used for this charge. So this is certainly suspicious and I'll have someone get back to you in two days. You should really use Bitcoin to avoid this happening in the future in the meantime." Well, that was ALMOST TWO WEEKS AGO and I'm still waiting for a response. The most I received was an email from them saying "They'll get back to me"... and that was a week ago.
So, being a political junkie I decided to wager on the US Election Midterms and deposited $1000 via Bitcoin. Naturally, they're great at taking my money.
Then five days after the elections I submitted a Bitcoin withdrawal request and the next day received an email saying "Hello
At your earliest convenience, please contact us regarding your Bovada account.
Regards,
Bovada Financial Services"
My account was closed... So I call them, spend another 45 minutes on hold and I'm told "Your account was closed because it was compromised." I explained that I'm using Nord VPN and my account was NOT compromised, it was actually me. Then I was told, "well, because you're actually travelling (I'm a US citizen in Malaysia for work right now). You cannot use Bovada until you're back in the USA." So I told him that I don't know when I'm going back and they told me they'll unlock the account so I can make another withdrawal request. He unlocked the account then waited for me to submit the withdrawal request, then closed my account again.
Keep in mind I still have pending bets (since I wagered on the Florida elections) and they're doing a recount of Florida's elections. When I asked about my pending bets they told me to CALL IN TO CHECK ON THE BETS.
SERIOUSLY.
This is legitimately the worst customer service ever, they're acting like I'm the one who owes them money!
I then received the email regarding my withdrawal "request" stating that it'll be processed within 48 hours. Well, it's been longer than 48 hours so I try using their online chat, and wait an hour to talk to somebody... And all that person says is "You will need to reach out over the phone".
So here I am on the phone, on hold again for over 30 minutes now... Just waiting to hear what's the next excuse as to why I haven't received my money yet.
I wish I found AskGamblers before depositing with Bovada. If I knew THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE AN OFFSHORE GAMBLING LICENSE ANYMORE I never would have wasted my time with them.
Caveat Emptor
