In mid-February of 2020 I requested a withdrawal via check by courier from my Bovada account in the amount of $255.01. Maybe a week later I received a check in a FedEx envelope. I knew I couldn't deposit it via Chase as I had received a check from Bovada once before and had to physically go into the bank.

A little more than a week later I came down with Covid-19 and not even a week after that the country went on lockdown. Banks all closed and I just put the check from Bovada in my desk drawer to deposit when things were back up and running again as I had been quarantining because I knew firsthand the effects of Covid-19.

Recently I went into Chase Bank to deposit the check. Deposit appeared to be successful and I was on my way. Yesterday I noticed in my account that the check had bounced and the money was removed. I reached out to Bovada Customer Service and they explained that the check must be cashed within 6 months of the date it is received which I understand.

The issue is they claimed that they cannot send another check or compensate me in any way which just doesn't seem fair.

The funds still exist but they are just keeping it? Are there any options here.

I saw a case very similar to mine on here that was resolved. Only hope I can have the same outcome they did.
