Ronaldinho Coming Out of Retirement

Ronaldinho Is Coming Out of Retirement

Brazilian football legend will be playing football again!

Ronaldinho has revealed he’s officially out of retirement after more than a decade and, at the age of 46, will be wearing the jersey of Ravenna, an Italian Serie C club.

Let the Magic Begin

In his new team, Ronaldinho will play the position of left winger and the man’s really excited about coming back to football.

I cannot wait to dance with the ball. Football has always been joyful for me, and I’m excited to bring that spirit to Ravenna. Let the magic begin!

Many football fans wonder why Ravenna and why now. The club changed ownership in 2024 when Ignazio Cipriani, president of Mr. C Hotels, bought the club. It turned out that the two were long-time friends and, with Cipriani’s ambitions of reaching Serie A, signing the deal felt like a natural move.

I think just having him with us is going to make Ravenna a much bigger club. It gave us an extreme level of PR that we wouldn't have had otherwise.

Cipriani concluded, adding that Ronaldinho is set to play at least one league match starting next season. It’s no secret that this is mainly a publicity stunt.

A True Football Legend

Very few football players in history have accomplished as much as Ronaldinho. His career spanned 17 years, during which he won the Ballon d’Or in 2005, won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002, and the 2005/2006 UEFA Champions League season with FC Barcelona.

The first time he played for an Italian team was for Milan from 2008 to 2011. The two-time FIFA Player of the Year’s last time on the pitch was in 2015 with Fluminense in his home country.
