Betting Tip: Uruguay - Peru
With the way Peru has been performing away from home, it’s hard to justify anything else apart from Uruguay to win. The odds for that are quite low, and combining it with BTTS: No makes it more appealing, considering Peru have yet to score away from home.
- Betting tip: Uruguay win + BTTS: NO
- Odds: 1.88

Uruguay
After a negative streak of two losses and two draws, Uruguay hosted Venezuela in the previous round. Their goal was to secure a win that would have proven valuable in their quest to clinch a ticket leading directly to the World Cup.
Uruguay was able to score a goal near the end of the first half and another right at the start of the second, earning a 2-0 victory that means it will take nothing short of a miracle for them to miss direct World Cup qualification.
They are six points above 7th-place Venezuela and the playoff spot, and a point in this match seals the deal.
Their work here is even easier in practice, for two reasons. Following the game against Peru, they will visit Chile, the worst team in the group, which is already out of the World Cup race. On top of that, Uruguay is an excellent team at home, having lost just once (to leaders Argentina), while winning five and drawing two matches (13-4 goal differential).
Peru
Peru hasn’t scored a single goal in any of the three games following their 3-1 victory over Bolivia. The Peruvians struggled offensively in the games against Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador, paying for it with their hopes of World Cup qualification, which are now shattered.
To reverse that, it would take several miracles. They are six points below 7th-place Venezuela, and they would need to win away (in Uruguay, and then Paraguay), coupled with Venezuela losing and a favourable goal difference.
That being said, the way Peru has performed recently does not inspire any confidence. In fact, they are the worst attack in the group, with just six goals scored, and they possess the very unfortunate distinction of not having scored a single away goal in the entire qualifiers.
Everyone around the team has more or less accepted that the dream is over; the team is travelling to Montevideo merely to put out a good performance and hopefully score for the first time away from home.
