Torino
In what was a thrilling match before the break, Torino earned a 3-3 draw away at Lazio. Having scored only twice in five games before, they showed unexpected attacking efficiency. They took the lead in the 16th minute through Simeone, but soon found themselves 2-1 down (24’, 40’).
Marco Baroni’s substitutions proved to benefit Torino, who equalised through Che Adams in the 73rd minute.
We saw plenty of drama in the stoppage time, as defender Coco made it 3-2 in the 93rd minute, only for Lazio to equalise in the 103rd minute via a VAR-awarded penalty after an eight-minute review!
Even though Torino missed out on a valuable win, the improved performance helped ease pressure on Baroni. Torino now has two straight home games against Napoli and Genoa. The list of injured players now features centre-back Ismajli and backup midfielder Anjorin.
Napoli
Napoli won against Genoa 2-1 before the break to stay on top, joint with Roma. They would not win any awards for their poor first-half performance, as they deservedly trailed from the 33rd minute, failing to register a single shot before halftime.
The second half was a different story, as they completely turned things around. Anguissa equalised with a header in the 57th minute, and in-form striker Hojlund completed the comeback in the 75th.
Napoli now faces a demanding schedule, starting with a match away with Torino, followed by a clash with PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, and then back home against Inter.
Winger Politano and midfielder Lobotka are unavailable for the match against Torino, while centre-backs Rrahmani and Buongiorno remain out in the long term. Lukaku has been sidelined since the summer.
