Betting tip Lecce – Milan

Milan were below par defensively in the opener vs Cremonese and will be highly motivated to change course in this one vs Lecce, a team with problems of their own, especially in the attacking side. Our pick is Milan to win in Salento.

Prediction: Milan to win

Odds: 1.61

Stake: 5

Lecce

Lecce presented a very solid tactical approach in the opener vs Genoa and prevented the Genoese from creating meaningful chances, leading to a goalless draw. Eusebio Di Francesco’s team were well-prepared, pressing higher up the pitch and regularly forcing mistakes in Genoa’s buildup.

Lecce had their chances to try and score a goal, especially in the opening stretch of the game, but after that the contest devolved into a series of hard-fought duels without any particular effort to play creative football.

The team faced only a single big chance by Genoa, in the first half’s stoppage time, and that by a set piece. Virtually nothing of note happened in the second; both teams appeared satisfied with the draw.

Lecce are eager to find a replacement for top scorer Krstovic, who secured a move to Atalanta. Centre back Jean will not be available for the clash vs Milan, and neither will be attacking midfielder Marchwinski.

Milan

Everything went wrong for Milan in the Serie A opener, resulting in a disappointing 1-2 home defeat to newly promoted Cremonese. Despite a positive start to the game, including two good missed chances, the team’s inability to defend set pieces proved fatal,

A corner kick in the 28th minute led to Cremonese’s first goal, owing to a grave error by centre back Pavlovic.

The Serb defender made up for it by scoring an equaliser at the end of the first half, but Milan were clearly not in control.

Max Allegri’s 3-5-2 formation was ineffective, while another set piece proved decisive. In the 61st minute, Milan’s defence left Cremonese player Bonazzoli completely unmarked in the box, and he converted the eventual winner.

The result is an abject failure for Milan, who are called to find solutions straight away, while missing their best player, Leao, once again in the game against Lecce. They are on the lookout for at least two new forwards before the end of the transfer window.
