Betting Tip: Juventus – Milan

This is shaping up to be a thrilling and closely contested derby game.  Milan has a slight advantage here, as they have no midweek games, compared to Juventus, which had to travel to Spain to face Villarreal on Wednesday. We are going with Milan to win or draw, combined with over 1.5 goals, in the scenario of a 1-1 draw.

  • Recommendation: Milan to win or draw & Over 1,5
  • Odds: 2.00 (at the time of writing)

Juventus

Juventus was far from convincing in the 1-1 draw with Atalanta and can probably count themselves fortunate not to have lost. They stormed off the gates in the opening 20 minutes, hitting the woodwork and creating another big chance, but their performance dropped off after that. A mistake by youngster Adzic in the 39th minute gifted Atalanta the lead.

Igor Tudor’s side was rattled and twice came close to conceding a second. Out of nowhere, and without having created chances prior to that, they managed to grab an equaliser in the 79th minute through Cabal, who punished a defensive lapse. Playing with a numerical advantage from the 81st minute, Juve was unable to grab the lead.

As always, the schedule is demanding: on Wednesday, Juventus travelled to Spain to face Villarreal in the second round of the Champions League group phase. Midfielder Miretti is unavailable for this match, while two key players, midfielder Khéphren Thuram and winger Conceição, are doubtful.

Milan

Milan confirmed their excellent form with a 2-1 win over Napoli in the top-of-the-table clash, moving up to first place. They started off strong, with Saelemaekers scoring in the 3rd minute of the game. Milan continued strongly for most of the half, and Pulisic doubled the lead in the 31st minute with a brilliant solo effort.

The Rossoneri had the game under control, but in the 57th minute, they were reduced to ten men when Estupiñán was sent off for committing a penalty. Napoli pulled one back, but Milan defended superbly with ten men to hold onto the win.

A much-deserved victory, and now the Rossoneri turn their attention to getting a good result against Juventus before the international break. Left-back Estupiñán is suspended after the red card, while summer signing Jashari remains out. Centre-back Tomori is questionable.
