Betting Tip Nottingham Forest - Brentford

Nottingham Forest are treating this as a must-win, and they are very formidable at home. Still, Brentford can be a dangerous team, able to strike on the counter. This makes some cover necessary, and our pick is 1 DNB.

Nottingham Forest

Forest swung for the fences in the FA Cup clash with Manchester City, but they were unsuccessful and are now left to pick up their pieces and make sure they finish the Premier League season strongly. There is no margin for error, and all 5 remaining games are must-wins.

They have spent most of the season in the top spots, and it would be very disappointing for them to drop from the top-5 at this stage. Favourable schedule ahead, facing teams without particular motivation, apart from the last game of the season vs Chelsea, which might decide everything.

To reach that point, they will face Brentford, Crystal Palace, Leicester, and West Ham - hardly a murderer’s row of opponents. Forest have their way with teams like this, made evident in their recent win over Tottenham. Naturally, everything begins and ends with a solid defensive performance. Still, they took an early lead vs Spurs (0-2 by the 16th minute and they were able to hold off Spurs; goalkeeper Sels was massive, and his defence was not far behind. Spurs could only score once late.

Brentford

The season is drawing to a close, and all told, it is considered rather positive. Never any relegation trouble for Brentford, who were hovering around the middle of the table for most of the year, but were not able to push past that.

The team was able to produce good football at times, providing entertainment for the fans, especially at home. Wins became rare as the season progressed, but last week’s convincing 4-2 victory over Brighton reminded everyone of the team that was gelling well at the start of the season. This win leaves them well-positioned to finish in the top 10, though that won’t really change anything in practical terms. Still, it would be good for morale, validating their efforts and their quality up front.

Mbeumo and Wissa are a big part of the latter. They could be part of - or even start in - most Premier League teams. The former was marvellous vs Brighton, scoring twice and assisting Wissa once. A collective effort led to an excellent performance that could have seen more goals.
