Betting Tip Espanyol - Valencia
Manolo Gonzalez’s team has started off the 2025/2026 La Liga season in a very impressive fashion. They are perfect at home, winning 3 out of 3, and appear very difficult to beat, especially by teams like Valencia (considering Espanyol have defeated the likes of Atletico Madrid). Espanyol were even able to overcome Mallorca in a game that saw them go down a man.
Carlos Corberan’s Valencia, on the other hand, impressed in the second half of last season, though their recent results have been a bit up-and-down. We expect the home side to take care of business, and Espanyol to make it 4/4 at home (2.30 odds).
- Prediction: Espanyol to win

Espanyol
The 2-0 loss away at Real Madrid was not ideal, but in many ways it was something of a predictable defeat. Even though the Catalans have started off the season in impressive fashion, a defeat away from home against one of the top clubs in the world is nothing to be embarrassed about.
They were threatening enough against Madrid but conceded once in each half, first to Militao and then to Mbappe. It was their first league defeat after 5 games.
They have been remarkable at home, still unbeaten, and that puts Valencia under pressure, while at the same time making Manolo Gonzalez’s team the favourites here. They defeated Atletico Madrid in comeback fashion, subdued Osasuna (1-0, Kike Garcia penalty), and then won a challenging 3-2 clash against Mallorca.
Valencia
It’s hard to accurately assess Valencia so far this season. Carlos Corberan helped lift the team from the relegation zone, pushed them to contention for European football last season, and this season, he has started with 10 points in 5 games.
The results have been very inconsistent, including a draw against Real Sociedad, a defeat against Osasuna (1-0), a win against a much-improved Getafe team (3-0), and, of course, a very heavy loss against Barcelona (6-0). Valencia conceded a whopping 5 goals in one half against the Blaugrana.
They managed to recover and responded with an impressive win against Athletic Bilbao. Valencia staved off Bilbao’s attacks in the first half, got an unexpected help by going up a man after a Bilbao red card, and got two goals to claim the win (Santamaria and Duro), and get up to 10 points. They will have their hands full against Espanyol, but their upcoming schedule of Oviedo, Girona, and Alaves is very manageable.
