Roma - Parma betting tips

Roma - Parma Match Preview and Betting Tip

Roma and Parma play their match in the 9th round of Serie A at the Stadio Olimpico, home of Roma.

What We Know

  • Just one defeat in 28 home games against Parma for Roma (the only defeat came in the 1996/1997 season).
  • BTTS: No in the last four matches between the two.
  • Roma’s last four home league games saw under 2.5 and BTTS: No.
  • Parma has not scored in any of its four away league games this season.
  • Parma has conceded three of its four away goals in the second half this season.

Betting Tip: Roma - Parma

Roma had a rough week, with two consecutive losses, one in the league and one in the Europa League, before showing a response against Sassuolo on Sunday. Parma has struggled on the attack this season and is expected to be somewhat cautious away at Olimpico, focusing on defence. We like the odds for under 2.5 goals.

  • Recommendation: Under 2.5
  • Odds: 1.80 (at the time of writing)

Roma

Roma endured a difficult week at home, suffering back-to-back defeats in Serie A and the Europa League, the worst possible outcome for a challenging set of games. In the league, they lost narrowly 1-0 to Inter, conceding in the 6th minute and failing to capitalise on a stronger second-half display.

The more surprising loss came on Thursday in Europe, where Roma fell 2-1 to Viktoria Plzeň, for their second defeat in three group matches. A brief three-minute stretch proved decisive (and disastrous), as they conceded twice (20’, 23’) and could only respond with a Dybala penalty in the 54th minute.

On the team news front, first-choice left-back Angeliño remains sidelined, while key midfielder Manu Koné picked up an injury against Plzeň and remains doubtful.

Parma

Parma faced a difficult test on Saturday at home against in-form Como, looking to secure just their second win of the campaign. Earlier, the relatively youthful side led by 30-year-old coach Carlos Cuesta had managed to take a valuable away point at Genoa.

Goalkeeper Suzuki was outstanding in that match, producing seven saves and denying a penalty in the seventh minute of stoppage time.

A demanding run now awaits Parma, starting with an away game against Roma, followed by home fixtures against Bologna and Milan. Young centre-back Ndiaye returns from suspension, but left-back Valeri, playmaker Oristanio, winger Ondrejka, and striker Frigan all remain unavailable.
