Pisa
Pisa came within seconds of claiming their first win of the campaign, and what a win it would have been, away to leaders Milan at San Siro. Instead, they conceded a damaging equaliser in stoppage time for a 2-2 draw.
Trailing from the 6th minute onwards, Pisa were under pressure in the first half but improved markedly after the interval. Cuadrado equalised from the spot at the hour mark, and confidence surged.
They took the lead in the 86th through Mbala N’Zola, who beat the offside trap, only for Milan to level with a rather fortunate long-range strike in the 92nd. Pisa nearly lost the game in the 97th minute, though that would have been an unfair outcome.
Injuries continue to hamper them, with summer signings Lusuardi (centre-back) and Stengs (midfielder) still unavailable.
Lazio
Lazio continues to grapple with significant absences but has managed to stay competitive. Their goalless draw away to Atalanta in Bergamo was hard-fought, as they endured long spells of pressure, hit the woodwork twice, but were also saved by key interventions from goalkeeper Provedel.
Sunday brought an even more difficult test at the Stadio Olimpico. Lazio hosted Juventus as they sought a third league win of the season, following earlier victories over Verona and Genoa, and they were successful, winning 1-0 after an early 9th-minute goal.
After facing Pisa next, Lazio will host Cagliari and then visit Inter.
Injury problems remain extensive. In-form winger Cancellieri (three goals this season) has been ruled out, while starting left-back Tavares also picked up a knock. Striker Castellanos, midfielders Rovella and Dele-Bashiru, left-back Pellegrini, and defender Gigot remain unavailable.
