Two of the favourites for Serie A meet on Saturday afternoon in Milan, and the head-to-head record shows things have been extremely tight between them in this fixture in the past.

We didn’t have to wait long to get a huge game in Serie A in the 2026/7 season, and it’s between Inter Milan and Napoli.
These have been the two big powerhouses in Italian football over the last few seasons.
Since 2021-22, Inter have won it three times, including last season, and also finished as runners-up in 2021-22 and in 2024-25.
In that year, they finished behind only the winners, you guessed it, Napoli, who also won it in 2022-23, before finishing as runners-up themselves last year. So you can see how these two have dominated things of late.
And Inter aren’t messing around this time either, already beating Monza 4-1 and Cagliari 1-0 last weekend, while Napoli have a win and a draw of their own.
Though Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku didn’t play much last season anyway at Napoli due to injury, he’s still a big miss after leaving for Fenerbahce, while their other big star, Kevin De Bruyne, is still around but has had to settle for two substitute appearances so far, so he’s clearly not 100% yet.
Proof that these two teams have been well-matched recently is that the last three between them in Milan ended 2-2, 1-1 and 1-1. You can see why Inter are favourites here, especially at home, but Napoli has a good record here.
A repeat of one of those two scores could be on the cards again, with both teams scoring (BTTS) and a draw looking like a good bet at the odds, especially when considering BTTS has been a winner in seven of the last eight.

Inter ended 11 points clear of Napoli last season, but if that was impressive enough, their goal difference was even more so. Thanks to scoring 89 times last season, 24 more than next-best Como, they had a positive goal difference of +54, considerably better than Napoli’s +22.
