Betting Tip Heidenheim - Werder Bremen
Heidenheim are motivated and want the three points, hoping for a big win by Bayern in Hoffenheim, but they know it is hard. Keeping a clean sheet for four matches in a row is equally hard. Werder will play freely and won’t hesitate to attack and we believe they will find one goal, so our pick is both teams to score and over 2.5 goals.
- Betting tip: BTTS & Over 2.5 goals

Heidenheim
Heidenheim kept their best performances for last. Very focused and efficient at home to Union Berlin, they came through with an emphatic 3-0 win. The big star of the day was attacking midfielder Beck, who kicked off things with a goal in the 12th minute and finished the job in the 73rd minute. In between (56'), midfielder Schöppner gave the visitors a two-goal lead.
Heidenheim were hardly threatened, closed the spaces well and were excellent on the counterattack. Union left space for their opponents, and Frank Schmidt's midfielders took advantage of it. Immediately after the 0-2, the home team reduced the deficit, but the goal was correctly disallowed as offside.
Thus, they remained unbeaten for a third match in a row, with two wins and a draw, for a total of 7 points. This way, they avoided automatic relegation, as the two teams who bid farewell to the Bundesliga are Holstein Kiel and Bochum. Instead, Heidenheim will at most have to play in the relegation/promotion playoffs, against the team that finishes third in the Zweite Bundesliga.
The most remarkable thing about Heidenheim as of late is their defensive performance. While for the best part of the season, they had been unable to keep their goal intact, they now have four clean sheets in their seven most recent matches.
There is a scenario in which Heidenheim avoids relegation without even having to compete in the playoffs. If they beat Werder, Hoffenheim lose to Bayern, and the goal difference of 6 goals is covered, then Heidenheim will automatically clinch a spot in next season’s Bundesliga.
Werder Bremen
They gave away their last chance for a European ticket after the 0-0 home draw against RB Leipzig. Werder pay for their three consecutive draws and will probably settle for an honourable finish in the top half of the standings.
Regarding the match, they were better and created 21 attempts, but failed to capitalise on any of the six big chances they were presented with. They thus moved up to 48 points, remaining 8th, -3 from Mainz and Leipzig, who also have a much better goal difference coefficient (-6 for Werder, +12 for Mainz, +6 for Leipzig).
Note that they haven't lost since March 15 and a 2-4 home defeat to Gladbach. They run a seven-match unbeaten streak with four wins and three draws.
