RB Leipzig - Stuttgart betting tip

RB Leipzig - Stuttgart Match Analysis and Betting Tip

Leipzig and Stuttgart play their Matchday 9 game in the Bundesliga at the Red Bull Arena, home of RB Leipzig.

What We Know

  • The last seven meetings between these sides have all ended with BTTS, and the last six have also gone over 2.5 goals.
  • RB Leipzig has a home record of 6-0-1 against Stuttgart, with four consecutive matches exceeding 2.5 scored goals and three BTTS results.

Betting Tip: RB Leipzig - Stuttgart

This has all the makings of a high-scoring encounter, with both sides capable of finding the net. However, Leipzig’s freshness, greater squad depth, and more clinical attack, especially at home, tilt the balance in their favour. Stuttgart’s slight fatigue and reduced scoring power away from home further strengthen the case for the hosts.

  • Prediction: RB Leipzig to win
  • Odds: 2.00 (at the time of writing)
  • Stake: 4

RB Leipzig

It’s as if they’ve completed a full circle of transformation. From the 0-6 defeat to Bayern München on opening day to the 6-0 demolition of Augsburg, also in Bavaria.

It was a brilliant display from Ole Werner’s team, which at times seemed to toy with the opposition, effortlessly moving the ball around against a defence that simply couldn’t cope.

Leipzig’s recent Bundesliga record now stands at 6-1-0, keeping them second in the table, with the only non-win being the 1-1 draw at Dortmund.

They’ve conceded only three goals in those seven matches. Early on, there was perhaps some luck involved in keeping clean sheets, but in the last five league games, their defensive organisation has been genuinely solid. Clear chances conceded are few and far between.

Back at home, Leipzig boasts a perfect 3/3 in the Bundesliga this season. Each of those came against opponents who sat deep and played reactively. Stuttgart, however, tend to be more proactive. They like to press and build,  and that might actually open up more space for Leipzig’s lightning-fast wide players to exploit.

Stuttgart

The 2-1 home win over Mainz didn’t come easily, but it brought multiple positives. Stuttgart showed patience, resilience, and tactical discipline in what was a game of fine margins. They went behind thanks to a 41st-minute penalty, but reacted calmly and controlled the second half.

Remarkably, Sebastian Hoeneß rotated his entire starting XI, making 11 changes from the midweek 0-1 defeat at Fenerbahce, and still managed to get the job done. It wasn’t their best attacking display, but it showed the squad’s adaptability and mental strength.

In the league, Stuttgart are flying: five consecutive wins, conceding just two goals in that stretch. They sit comfortably in the top four, handling their domestic schedule impressively despite their less convincing Europa League form (1-0-2).

Hoeneß continues to make full use of his squad depth, though the injury to Demirovic leaves them short of a true striker. Reinforcements in attack are expected in the winter window.

They will, however, enter this match with a small scheduling disadvantage, having played their DFB Pokal tie on Wednesday (away at Mainz), while Leipzig played a day earlier on Tuesday (at Cottbus). That extra rest could prove important.
