Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen play their match for Matchday 9 of the Bundesliga at the Allianz Arena, home of Bayern Munich.
What We Know
Bayern Munich have scored at least two goals in each of their last 19 home league matches, and have found the net in 23 consecutive Bundesliga games since their 0-2 loss to Dortmund in March 2024.
Bayer Leverkusen is unbeaten in 37 away Bundesliga games and has a recent record of 1-2-1 at the Allianz Arena.
Betting Tip: Bayern Munich - Bayer Leverkusen
Bayern remain a class above the rest of the Bundesliga. If there’s a match where they drop points, it will likely be because of their own off-day, not an opponent’s brilliance. Leverkusen under Hjulmand are better structured and more disciplined, but if Bayern play at even a normal level, they won’t let this one slip.

Bayern Munich
Their dominance continues, and with the 3-0 win over Mönchengladbach, Bayern matched AC Milan’s record from 1992 for the best start to a season by any club in Europe’s top five leagues: 13 wins from 13 matches in all competitions.
Once again, they combined rotation, control, and patience. The early red card to Mönchengladbach (19’) helped, but Bayern still needed composure to break down a packed defence, which they did by the 64th minute, after which the game opened up and the scoreline grew comfortably.
At Borussia Park, Neuer, Laimer, and Tah were rested. That’s the current limit of Vincent Kompany’s rotation policy, around three fresh starters per match, and that pattern is likely to continue until the end of 2025. Once long-term absentees Davies and Musiala return from injury, the Belgian coach will have even greater depth to manage the demanding schedule.
To his credit, Kompany has handled things impressively. He has helped develop Karl, turned Boey into a reliable squad option, and implemented a more flexible tactical shape. The only real disappointment so far is Jackson, who still hasn’t adapted to Bayern’s tempo.
Bayer Leverkusen
Leverkusen passed a real test of character last weekend. Just days after their painful 2-7 home defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, they bounced back with a comfortable 2-0 win over Freiburg.
Leverkusen dominated possession (69%), controlled the tempo, and wrapped up the game by the hour mark with two well-taken goals, then calmly saw out the result without danger.
Domestically, Kasper Hjulmand’s team are doing well, now seven Bundesliga matches unbeaten (5–2–0) and still within reach of the top four. Their home form has been especially impressive, while their performances away from home have been more uneven.
Leverkusen often sits deeper on the road, looking to counter, but hasn’t yet achieved defensive stability. They’ve conceded in every away match, including three goals in Mainz last time out, though they still won 4-3 thanks to superior finishing.
Still, Hjulmand’s project is moving in the right direction. He’s given the team a clear identity and is steadily improving them despite the packed schedule. Facing Bayern in Munich serves as a true progress test: even a competitive showing in defeat would be a sign of growth.
