The first legs of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals took place last week and produced a mix of results: some unexpected, some not so much.
Interestingly, there were no draws in any of the four quarter-final first legs, and mostly as a result of that, all four teams that won last week are strong favourites to progress to the semis.
Bayern Munich - Real Madrid Betting Tip
Real Madrid versus Bayern could easily have gone to 3-3 in the first leg, rather than 2-1, as it ended.
Real normally score plenty of goals, whatever the occasion, and will have to go for it here, while any Bayern side boasting the likes of Harry Kane, Luis Diaz, and Michael Olise are never too far away from scoring a few of their own, are they?
It’s anyone’s guess as to how this could turn out. It could be 5-2, it could be 3-3. But over 3.5 goals at 1.73 covers plenty of likely possibilities, so that’s what we’re going with.
Liverpool - PSG Preview and Tips
PSG’s two-goal lead makes them just 1.13 to qualify for the next round, with Liverpool 6.0, but some will remember how impressive Mo Salah and co were when they hosted Galatasaray a few weeks ago, also after losing the first leg, and may show faith in the Reds doing it all over again.
Alternatively, you can back Liverpool at 2.45 to just win the game (whether they go on to progress to the next round or not) while talisman Salah, who scored that night against Galatasaray, is 2.5 to score anytime.
You can also get 2.38 on Hugo Etikitike getting on the scoresheet, while Hungarian playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai is 3.75 to get a goal of his own. In other markets, both teams to score is 1.44, and a PSG player to get sent off is 11.0.
Atletico Madrid - Barcelona Preview and Predictions
Atletico’s two-goal lead of their own makes them just 1.3 to progress with Barca 3.4, but it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen the Blaugrana overcome a deficit to progress against the odds.
They’ll obviously need to score at least twice if they’re to go through, so the anytime goalscorer market is a good place to start if you’re looking for a bet.
Among the most likely scorers, you can back Robert Lewandowski at 2.9 or wunderkind Lamine Yamal at 2.2. Ferran Torres is the same price, and at a slightly bigger 2.4, you can back Englishman Marcus Rashford.
As for Atletico players, Julian Alvarez, who scored that brilliant free-kick in the first leg, is 2.7 to score again on Tuesday and is also available at 7.5 to be the first goalscorer. For those expecting a goal-fest, over 4.5 goals is 2.8.
