Betting Tip Chelsea - Ajax

All signs point in one direction. Chelsea look one of the strongest favourites of the night, and the odds reflect it. Ajax have lost both games without scoring, consistently conceding early and showing no real fight. Expect Chelsea to start aggressively, dominate possession, and aim to wrap up the result by halftime.

Chelsea

Under pressure before the international break. The heavy defeat to Bayern Munich in the opener and, more importantly, the poor overall display, raised serious questions compounded by a league loss to Manchester United soon after.

The Blues responded like a big club. On Matchday 2, they edged Benfica 1-0 at home, their first win of the group, thanks to an early own goal in the 18th minute. The performance wasn’t perfect, but it was efficient. They then followed it up by beating Liverpool in the Premier League, restoring confidence at just the right moment.

The break came at a good time for Mauricio Pochettino’s side to regroup and recharge. Now the challenge is to build momentum and consistency. Next up, a trip to Azerbaijan to face Qarabag, followed by a marquee home clash with Barcelona.

Ajax

Simply not at the level required for the Champions League. Flat and unimaginative going forward, soft at the back, and completely lacking identity. Their performances so far have been worrying.

They opened with a comfortable 2-0 home defeat to Inter, and things got even worse in France, where Marseille humiliated them 4-0. The damage was done inside 26 minutes, with goals in the 6th, 12th, and 26th minutes, effectively ending the contest before halftime. A fourth followed in the 52nd minute.

Their struggles aren’t confined to Europe. Domestic form has also nosedived, leaving them well off the title pace. Up next in the League Phase are home games against Galatasaray and Benfica.
