  • Between 2 and 3 goals in five of Bayer Leverkusen’s last six matches in the competition.

Bayer Leverkusen - Paris Saint-Germain Betting Tip

Paris Saint-Germain stand in a class of their own. Winning an away game against Barcelona despite missing four key players says it all. It’s hard to see Bayer Leverkusen being truly competitive here. The odds are fair and correctly balanced. Τhe away win price is justified, even if not particularly high in value.

  • Prediction: Paris Saint-Germain win
  • Odds: 1.65 (at the time of writing)

Bayer Leverkusen

A second match without victory in the League Phase leaves their chances of advancing to the next round increasingly complicated. Both of their opening fixtures were against teams of comparable level, the kind they needed to beat to stay in contention.

After the 2-2 draw in Denmark against FC Copenhagen, they were held 1-1 at home by PSV Eindhoven, despite being the better side for most of the match. Kofane gave them the lead in the 65th minute, but that advantage lasted only seven minutes before they conceded the equaliser at ‘72.

There has been clear improvement since Danish coach Kasper Hjulmand took charge, yet Leverkusen remain far from the level required to compete with Europe’s elite. Their next two League Phase fixtures, away to Benfica and Manchester City, will be a true test of their ambitions.

Paris Saint-Germain

The reigning European champions continue to command respect. Their performance on Matchday 2 of the League Phase made the football world stand and applaud.

Away to Barcelona, a team hoping to dethrone them this season, PSG were missing several key players, including Dembélé, Doue, Kvaratskhelia, and Marquinhos. It didn’t matter. Luis Enrique’s side delivered another masterclass.

Barcelona opened the scoring in the 19th minute, but from the half-hour mark onward, the match was controlled entirely by PSG. Mayulu equalised in the 38th, and Gonçalo Ramos struck the winner in the 90th, sealing a fully deserved 2-1 comeback victory.

They showed once again that, at this moment, they are the benchmark team in the competition, and that anyone wishing to take their crown will have to suffer for it. Next up in the League Phase: Bayern Munich at home, followed by Tottenham Hotspur, also in Paris.
