Brighton
Brighton fans have been consistently disappointed over the past couple of weeks. The Seagulls got knocked out of the FA Cup, and their past five matches in the Premier League were either losses or draws.
Their defence is severely lacking, leading to a devastating 4-2 loss while playing away at Brentford. For the first half, they were strong. In fact, they scored two goals within 10 minutes, leading to an equaliser, but ultimately couldn’t keep up and ended up in a loss.
Although they’re sitting in the 10th place of the league’s rankings, chances are we’ll see them end up in the bottom half by the end of the season. This match against West Ham won’t decide much, so they’ll be mostly playing for the fans.
West Ham
The Hammers don’t seem to be able to get a grip this season. It all started on the wrong foot for them, with a win here and there, but also a lot of disappointments and some heavy losses even against smaller clubs.
It was especially evident in the last home game against Southampton. A club that seemingly anyone could beat this season managed to overcome West Ham and come out of it with a satisfying tie. Well, for Southampton, at least.
There seems to be no motivation among the players, and the team is sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table. Even with Graham Potter at the helm now, they’re not able to gather themselves up and catch up with their massive -18 goal difference in the league, although they’re able to score even when they’re on the losing end.
