  • These two have faced each other 12 times in the Premier League, and they have scored 36 goals in total, an average of three per game.
  • Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma is the matchup’s active leading scorer, tallying four goals in five games.

Betting Tip: Bournemouth - Brighton

Bournemouth and Brighton must have enjoyed good morale during the break, following their respective triumphs over Spurs and Manchester City. They continue to rely on their attacking prowess, and that will define this game as well. We expect goals to be scored, and our pick is more than three goals to be scored.

  • Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals
  • Odds: 1.70 (at the time of writing)
  • Stake: 6

Bournemouth

Bournemouth managed to come away with an impressive 0-1 win from their visit to Spurs. The Cherries played some of their best football in recent years as, apart from Evanilson’s 5th minute eventual winner, they created several more opportunities to score.

This was the second straight victory for Andoni Iraola’s team, maintaining a good run. The team has a clear and attacking playing style based on rapid transition from attack to defence. On top of that, the defensive line appears better and better by the day, slowly overcoming the substantial changes due to transfer departures in the summer window.

Bournemouth were also relatively active in the transfer market right at the deadline, adding two more defenders. The talented Serbian centre back Milosavljevic arrived from Crvena Zvezda for 15 million euros, while right back Jimenez joined on loan from Milan.

Brighton

Brighton beat the odds and earned a fantastic 2-1 home win over Manchester City in the last round. The Seagulls even went down a goal in the 34th minute, and until the hour mark, they appeared resigned to their fate.

Fabian Hurzeler’s substitutions, however, were crucial and pushed his team forward towards an improbable comeback. Milner equalised with a penalty against his former team in the 67th minute before Gruda gave his team the three points with a late winner (89’).

It was the first win of the campaign for Brighton, and it has naturally changed the atmosphere around the team. There are still questions about Brighton’s defensive capabilities, but as evident from both their league and EFL Cup performances, the attack is all it was expected to be, and more.

The Seagulls opted not to bring in new players at the deadline, though they did attempt to move Igor Julio (central defender) to Crystal Palace; the Brazilian nearly became a Palace player but instead backed out at the last minute and joined West Ham instead.
