Barcelona

We saw an incredible comeback win for Barcelona against Celta in last week’s La Liga round. Barcelona scored the game winner in the 94th minute, a goal that brought a 4-3 win in a true crowd-pleaser of a game.

Barcelona took the lead early with Ferran Torres and his 10th La Liga goal in the 12th minute.

Celta equalised only three minutes later, when forward Borja Iglesias took advantage of goalkeeper Szczesny’s error. Defensive errors continued for Barcelona into the second half, and Iglesias scored two more goals after another two errors to give Celta the 3-1 lead.

That did not last long as Hansi Flick’s substitutes helped turn things around. Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Olmo were key for Barcelona’s second goal (64’), and just three minutes later, Lamine Yamal assisted Raphinha for an equaliser. He was also the one to bring the home team a victory after converting a penalty in the 94th minute.

This was the 6th league game this season in which the Catalan side has scored at least four goals. However, serious defensive issues persist for Barcelona in their third consecutive home game with BTTS.

Another thing to consider ahead is Lewandowski’s injury, as he is expected to be out for 2-3 weeks.

Mallorca

A rather forgettable match against Leganes for Mallorca, ending in a rather unpleasant goalless draw. We didn’t see many chances for either team in that game, especially in the first half. Mallorca had a few moments towards the end of the game, especially in the last 10 minutes. Forward Larin missed one of those chances, while Sanchez missed another in stoppage time.

This was the Islanders' second consecutive home game without a win, although they remain in a position that qualifies them for European competitions, currently sitting in the 7th position with 44 points.

Three of their last four games had under 2.5 goals, but it’s Barcelona they are facing tonight, and this trend could be ending. Mallorca will be travelling to Catalonia again in the next round to face Girona, and given that their away records are not that bad at all, that could be their chance to snatch some points.
