Dear AskGamblers Team,

I am filing a complaint against the RioPlay Affiliate Program, as the program refused to pay my commission despite the fact that all agreed conditions were met.

Unpaid amount: $1080

Traffic period: April 16 – April 28, 2025

Registrations during this period: 1773 (all verified via CPF, confirming these were real players and not fraudulent signups)

First-time deposits (FTD) according to RioPlay Affiliate Program statistics: 100 (this figure does not include post-click 30-day conversions, meaning the actual number could be higher).

Out of these, 54 FTD met the agreed baseline of 41 BRL ($7.1) — which equals the unpaid commission of $1080 ($20 × 54).

Total deposit amount shown in RioPlay Affiliate Program statistics: $2713 (across these 100 FTD).
Out of this, one active player deposited $1771.90, which is normal iGaming behavior (depositing, winning, withdrawing repeatedly). This cannot be considered an anomaly or “fraud traffic.”

All evidence (screenshots of communication with manager < full name removed > and statistics from the RioPlay Affiliate dashboard) is ready to be provided.

Agreed Terms

At the start (April 16), RioPlay Affiliate Program manager < full name removed > shared the rules document. We agreed on $20 per FTD with a baseline of 41 BRL ($7.1).

In our communication, the manager confirmed he represented RioPlay directly and not as a third-party intermediary.

At that time, the conditions on RioPlay’s website were:

minimum deposit: 10 BRL ($1.7),

welcome bonus granted for deposits starting from 50 BRL ($8.7).

These terms were publicly available on the RioPlay website during registration. Players saw them directly; I never instructed players on how much to deposit.

Manager’s Claims vs Reality

Manager < full name removed > argued:

many players deposited exactly 50 BRL,

repeat deposits among those players amounted to only 140 BRL,

therefore the traffic showed a “clear pattern” and was not organic.

These arguments are invalid:

RioPlay itself promoted the welcome bonus starting at 50 BRL — naturally players chose this amount;

I never told players what deposit amount to make; they acted based on the site’s own conditions;

fulfilling the baseline did not include any requirements for repeat deposits — this was never part of the agreement;

my obligation was to deliver FTDs meeting the baseline. I delivered 54 such players, corresponding to $1080;

repeat deposit volume depends solely on RioPlay’s retention efforts, not on affiliates.

In fact, < full name removed > admitted in our chat that there were “really good players” among my traffic. Yet even for those players, RioPlay Affiliate Program refused to pay anything — showing this was a decision not to pay, rather than a question of traffic quality.

Traffic and Stop of Campaign

This was the initial test campaign, not a full-scale traffic run.

The manager did not specify any traffic cap or limits.

He also never asked me to stop the campaign until I reached out myself, requesting promo codes to improve traffic quality.

Only then did he reply that I should “stop the strange traffic.”

Thus, the stop was triggered only after my message, not as a proactive decision from the manager.

According to RioPlay Affiliate statistics, 16 out of 100 FTD were flagged as multi-accounts (≈16%). Since all registrations were CPF-verified, preventing multiple accounts is the responsibility of RioPlay, not affiliates.

Tracking and Statistics Issues (Post-Click 30 Days)

RioPlay Affiliate Program only credits deposits if made within 30 days after the click.

Players who deposited later were not counted, even though they were acquired through my traffic.

This means the $2713 figure underreports the actual deposits generated.

Additional Problem: App Installation Bonus

Upon visiting the RioPlay site, players first saw an offer for a bonus on app installation instead of the registration form.

As a result, some players likely registered via the app, bypassing my tracking link.

I was aware of this disadvantage and still accepted it, knowing part of my traffic would not be credited.

Despite this, RioPlay later accused me of fraud and refused to pay anything.

Contradictions in Manager’s Arguments

He claimed repeat deposits among 50 BRL depositors were only 140 BRL, but this behavior was directly caused by RioPlay’s own bonus mechanics and cannot justify withholding payment.

He criticized the lack of repeat deposits, although baseline conditions did not require them.

Total deposits shown were $2713, of which $1771.90 came from one active player. Such player activity is normal in iGaming and not grounds for non-payment.

Statistics also showed over $804 in deposits after traffic was stopped, contradicting his statement of “only 140 BRL repeat deposits.”

I suggested adding promo codes and better bonus mechanics to increase player value. These suggestions were ignored.

Policy Changes After Dispute

After refusing to pay, RioPlay Affiliate Program changed its terms:

minimum deposit raised from $1.7 (10 BRL) to $5.2 (30 BRL),

welcome bonus structure revised.

This proves that many players depositing exactly $8.7 was due to RioPlay’s own bonus policy, not because of my traffic.

Conclusion and Warning

The refusal to pay is unjustified because:

I worked under the exact agreed terms with RioPlay Affiliate Program;

1773 registrations were delivered (all CPF-verified);

54 players passed the baseline, equaling $1080 in commission;

repeat deposits were not part of the agreement;

statistics are understated due to post-click 30 rules and app bonus diversion;

one strong player generating $1771.90 in deposits is normal gaming activity, not fraud;

the manager acknowledged real, valuable players but refused to pay even for them;

traffic was only stopped after my own inquiry, not by manager’s instruction;

RioPlay changed its bonus policy after the dispute, confirming the flaw was in their mechanics.

Several months have passed. I no longer expect this payment but submit this complaint to warn other affiliates: such situations can occur with the RioPlay Affiliate Program. In over 3 years working with Brazilian traffic, I have never experienced such an approach with any other brand.

I respectfully request AskGamblers to record this case and support my claim for the $1080 commission that RioPlay Affiliate Program unfairly withheld.
