Wolfsburg
They confirmed last week in Dortmund that they are in an awful spot, losing 4-0. Within five minutes, they were already trailing, and in the second half, they went even further downhill, conceding three goals in less than 15 minutes (59'-73').
The way their defenders were allowing opponents to find shots in good conditions was shocking, to say the least. This match was the coup de grâce for coach Ralph Hasenhüttl, who was dismissed after 14 months at Wolfsburg.
His place in the final two games will be taken by U19 coach Daniel Bauer, while the club scour the market to find the Austrian's replacement.
The last round’s game was the fifth defeat in the last six matches for Wolfsburg, who have not won since 1 March and their away victory in Bremen against Werder. Meanwhile, they have scored in only two of their last seven games.
Thus, they remain in 12th place in the standings with 39 points and are just waiting for the season to be over, with no realistic goal to aim for until the finale.

Hoffenheim
Hoffenheim participated in the most spectacular game of the week and left Mönchengladbach with a point (4-4). They started badly and were 2-0 down just after half an hour. They equalised through Chaves (43') and Bülter (54').
They fell down again at 64’, before returning to the match once more, ten minutes later, with a great shot by Hlozek. Hoffenheim then took the lead through Tabakovic (81'), but they couldn't hold on until the end and were equalised in stoppage time.
Had they won, they would have mathematically secured their stay in the league. At the moment, they are 15th, +5 from 16th-placed Heidenheim and +6 from 17th-placed Holstein Kiel. They have not yet been saved, paying for their inability to reach victory. They have just one win in the last five matches, against Mainz (12/04).
Their defensive performance has been rather terrible, having conceded 13 goals in the last five games. Overall, they now have the third-highest goals-allowed rating in the Bundesliga, behind only the bottom two in the standings. Away from home, they have won just three times in 16 games (3-5-8).
The future of coach Christian Ilzer is uncertain, as he will probably be removed even if Hoffenheim remain in the top flight.
