Betting Tip: Torino - Roma

Torino’s players are with half a mind to their summer vacation, and that has been showing in recent performances. Roma want to cash in their fantastic second half of the season for a Europa League spot. A favourable result from the Juventus game might be even better and lead them to the Champions League. Our expectation is that Ranieri’s team won’t have any problems taking care of business here.

  • Betting tip: Roma to win
  • Odds: 1.53 (at the time of writing)
  • Stake: 7

Torino

Torino were the better team vs Lecce for the first half, but they missed their chances to score. They conceded in the first minute of the second half and were unable to get one of their own.

The loss dropped them five points behind the first half of the standings and their last ‘objective’ of the season. Things could have been much better had they been able to take care of business at home against weaker opponents. They drew at home against teams like Venezia, Monza, Parma, Genoa, and Verona.

There were mitigating circumstances, such as the loss of talented forward Zuniga. They were, however, able to find a respectable replacement in the person of Scottish striker Che Adams, who scored nine goals in the Serie A.

Roma

Roma were able to return to their winning ways after a 3-1 victory over Milan at home, a win that brought them fifth, a spot that leads them to the Europa League. They were fortunate to take the lead early with Mancini and to see Gimenez be sent off for Milan in the 21st minute. They conceded before the half, but they were dominant in the second, scoring twice.

In order for Roma to climb up to fourth place and win a Champions League ticket, they will have to defeat Torino and hope that Juventus do not do the same against Venezia. Obviously, there is a danger of falling into a Conference League spot if they fail to win at Torino and Lazio defeat Lecce. In the meantime, the scenario that claimed Jurgen Klopp would take over as manager after Claudio Ranieri was discredited.
