Real Oviedo - Osasuna betting tips

Real Oviedo - Osasuna Preview and Betting Tip

Real Oviedo hosts Osasuna at Carlos Tartiere in their match for the 11th round of the La Liga.

Facts

  • Osasuna have won just four of their 27 away clashes at Oviedo (four draws, 19 defeats).
  • Five of the last seven games between the two at Oviedo have seen over 2.5 goals.

Betting Tip: Real Oviedo - Osasuna

Real Oviedo is in crisis mode, seemingly unable to emerge from a prolonged slump. This game represents an opportunity to do just that, as Osasuna is coming off two defeats and is significantly weaker away from home. We like the odds for 1DNB at 2.04.

  • Prediction: Real Oviedo draw no bet
  • Odds: 2.04 (at the time of writing)
  • Stake: 7

Real Oviedo

Oviedo came away with mixed emotions from the 3-3 draw away to Girona. On one hand, Oviedo salvaged a point in the final play of the game. On the other hand, they had victory firmly in their grasp until the 83rd minute.

They took the lead from the penalty spot in the 38th minute and doubled their advantage twenty minutes later, exploiting a defensive breakdown following a set-piece. Unfortunately, from that moment on, they switched off, allowing the hosts to complete a full turnaround (64’ penalty, 83’, 90’ penalty).

A minor consolation was that they showed spirit, equalising deep into stoppage time (90+7’) after sustained pressure in the opposition box, again from a dead-ball situation. Still, their return of seven points from the first ten rounds (2-1-7) remains meagre, with minimal progress under new coach Carrión.

Notably, they have conceded in nine of their opening ten matches. On Tuesday (28/10), they slipped back into crisis mode, suffering elimination from the Copa del Rey after a 4-2 extra-time defeat away to amateur side Ourense (2–2 in normal time).

Meanwhile, an arrest warrant for owner Jesús Martínez in Mexico has sparked further turbulence within the club. Captain and midfielder Cazorla (7/0) is racing to be fit, while midfielders Ejaria (5/0) and Ilic (9/1) are touch-and-go.

Osasuna

Masters of self-destruction, Osasuna succumbed to a painful 2-3 home defeat against Celta. They were stunned in the 26th minute on a swift counter-attack, but reacted well to equalise from the penalty spot 11 minutes later, and then turned the game around in first-half stoppage time (45+1’) from a well-executed set-piece.

However, they lost concentration again in the 69th minute, conceding from another set piece. A penalty in their favour ten minutes later offered a chance for redemption, but Budimir missed, and Osasuna were ruthlessly punished eight minutes later (87’) as Celta struck the winner.

For the first time this season, Osasuna has lost consecutive league games, both of which were decided in the final 25 minutes. Away from home, the record is equally bleak: only one victory in their last 19 La Liga trips (8 draws, 10 defeats), and goalless in ten of those matches.

They at least restored some pride on Wednesday (29/10), sweeping aside modest Sant Jordi 0-5 in the Copa del Rey. Winger Iker Benito (5/1) has been ruled out, while key full-back Rosier (8/0) also misses out. Midfielder Oroz (4/0) and winger Becker (5/0) are doubtful.
