  • Real Madrid is now five games unbeaten against Sevilla, winning four of them.

Betting Tip: Sevilla - Real Madrid

All things considered, there’s no reason for anything other than a carefree approach to this match from both teams, and both are shaky defensively. We expect goals and an overall enjoyable game, and the pick is over 3.5 goals.

  • Prediction: Over 3.5
  • Odds: 2.30 (at the time of writing)
  • Stake: 5

Sevilla

Their 1-0 win against Las Palmas was their first after eight games. Forward Pascual scored the winner, his first with Sevilla’s first team. This was a balanced game, with no team creating huge chances.

Neither team was particularly motivated, considering they’ve already cemented their positions. Veteran manager Caparros asked his players to give one last good performance in front of their home fans, whom he thanked.

Sevilla managed to avoid conceding for the first time in nine matches. Just 14 of their 36 have ended with over 2.5 goals, and 20 of them with BTTS. Still, the team has been under pressure recently, and that might give them an opportunity to strike on the counterattack.

The fans are somewhat calmed down after recently attacking the team’s training centre (!), following the defeat to Celta. They will face Villarreal next week.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid earned a last-minute win at home against Mallorca, for their third home comeback of the season. They fell behind early (11’) and took 26 corners, while putting up 39 shots.

They were dominating the game, but it took a while to translate that into goals. Mbappe scored his 28th goal of the season for the equaliser, and his team kept squandering chances until the very end, when defender Ramon scored his first goal with Real Madrid, in just his second appearance.

This was another game with many defensive absences, and their 21st game of the season with BTTS, while 22 of their matches have seen over 2,5 goals. They have the league’s second-best attack with 74 goals.

The championship dreams are over after the recent defeat at Barcelona, and the planning for the future has started. Transfer speculation is heating up, especially on defence. These are the last few games of legendary manager Ancelotti as Madrid boss before he becomes the Brazil national team coach. Madrid will face Real Sociedad next week.
