Betting Tip PSG - Arsenal

Arsenal has shown that it is able to challenge any team in the world. However, they are with their backs against the wall now, so they will need to repeat their quarter-final performance.

PSG were the better team in the first leg, they are playing this one at home, and it is unlikely they will lose a game that will probably not feature too many goals.

PSG

This is very likely the PSG team that plays best together after some time, despite the fact that there are no such superstars on the roster as there were in the previous seasons. Now it’s their time to show how far they can go since winning the French league is no news to them.

This is the third English team PSG faces in the UCL knockout stage this season.

They first eliminated the Premier League champions Liverpool in the Round of 16, then the fighting Aston Villa in the quarter-finals. Both draws were tightly contested, but PSG were the better team and pulled through.

Last week, they put the foundations for yet another advance, this time to the final of the top European competition. They defeated Arsenal 1-0, with Dembele scoring yet another goal in what has been an incredible season. He picked up a knock later on, so his appearance in the rematch is questionable.

Both Dembele and goalkeeper Gigi Donnarumma are in incredible form. The latter has been one of the very best in the world for years, but recently he has reached a new level. His saves of Martinelli and Trossard’s shots were crucial last week.

Arsenal

The last time Arsenal reached the semi-finals of the Champions League was 16 years ago, so the motivation is definitely strong, even though the club might lack the experience of playing at this stage.

There is, however, plenty of talent. Injuries have not helped, and while Partey will be returning after his suspension, Mikel Arteta will be without a few of his more important players. It is no accident that he only made two substitutions in the London match, both late in the game.

The game plan in that fixture was obsolete very early on as PSG scored first. The Gunners were shell-shocked and appeared unable to regulate their emotions in order to come up with a response.

They closed out the half strongly, and pressed early in the second, but to no avail - Merino’s goal was disqualified by the VAR. In Paris, the Londoners are more likely to drop back a bit, wait for PSG to make a mistake, and strike in the open space.

Another difficult task would be to prevent the Parisians from scoring first, especially before they get a sense of the game and the pitch in Paris.
