Betting Tip Hoffenheim - Bayern

Bayern will be liberated after returning to the top of the league. No opponent can cope with their offensive prowess, especially when that opponent is defensively unstable Hoffenheim. The home team have a bigger motivation and needs to win, but the task of stopping Bayern is a hard one. Our pick is Bayern to score in both halves.

  • Betting tip: Bayern to score in both halves

Hoffenheim

Last Friday, Hoffenheim faced Wolfsburg away from home in the game that opened the penultimate matchday of this season’s Bundesliga. They secured an all-important draw (2-2) in their race to avoid relegation and stay in the top tier of German football. They didn’t start the match well and were already down 1-0 after less than one minute of play. They pulled an equaliser in the 34th minute with Kaderabek, and kept the pace throughout the rest of the match.

The home side found a second goal in the 81st minute, but Hoffenheim were not deterred and equalised through Bülter three minutes later. A fair result based on the full picture of the match, with Christian Ilzer's side once again proving effective in the attacking half, but equally dysfunctional in the defensive third.

They have not mathematically avoided relegation, having only one win in their last six games. During this time, their goal has been breached 15 times. This is not particularly surprising, as Hoffenheim have the third-highest goal scored against total, as only already relegated Holstein Kiel and Bochum have conceded more.

At home, they only have four wins in 16 games (4-5-7), an unconvincing performance that has contributed to their 15th spot in the standings.

All they need against Bayern is a point in order to clinch their stay in the league for next season. If they lose, they need either Heidenheim not to beat Werder or, if they do, not to cover the 6-goal differential between the two, as this is the number one tie-breaker.

Bayern

Bayern were the ones to smile this season in Germany, as they returned to the top of German football, after one year away from their throne. The Bavarians played their last home game and celebrated with their fans, beating rivals Gladbach 2-0.

In a jubilant atmosphere, Vincent Kompany's side did their duty thanks to goals from Harry Kane (31') and Michael Olise (90'). They were quite creative in yet another match, finishing the 90 minutes with 24 shots on goal. The atmosphere in the "Allianz Arena" was highly charged as the club legend Thomas Müller played his last game in front of the Bayern fans and received a lengthy ovation.

The German champions moved up to 79 points with their 24th win of the season. They will try to break the 100-goals scored barrier when playing against Hoffenheim, although they will need to score five times to do so.
