Juventus - Manchester City Betting Tip
Both teams have secured a spot in the next stage. It will be crucial, however, to win the first place in the group, as it will more than likely lead to an easier opponent in the round of 16. Juventus can afford a draw as well, and it is likely they will seek to shore up their defensive shape against a threatening attack like City’s. Both teams have looked convincing defensively in this competition, making the Under 2.5 Goals a good choice.
- Betting tip: Under 2.5 Goals
- Odds: 2.00 (at the time of writing)
- Stake: 3
Juventus
Juventus earned a comfortable 4-1 win against Wydad Casablanca. They scored enough goals to stay above Manchester City in goal differential. Had Vlahovic not scored a last-minute penalty, Juventus would have been in second place. The new wonderment of Turkish football, Yildiz, was massive once again, scoring two goals.
Combined with the first game 5-0 victory over the Emirati Al Ain, this game brought Juventus just below the top of the scoring leaderboard across the entire tournament, behind only Bayern Munich, who faced the semi-professional Auckland City.
This has been a rather troubling season for Juventus, and the FCWC is an opportunity to recover some of the magic from past seasons. This game is a good test for manager Igor Tudor ahead of the knockout stage and ahead of next season. The Croat, in his three months as the bianconeri manager, has led his team to a 7-3-1 record in 11 games.
Manchester City
Manchester City did not face any trouble against Al Ain, but the 6-0 final score was somehow not enough! They needed one more goal to move up to first place over Juventus and have the upper hand in this game. Still, City scored half of their 6 goals after the 73rd minute, so they couldn’t be asking for too much more at the end.
Ilkay Gundogan was a standout, scoring twice, while Erling Haaland was productive with a goal and an assist. Youngsters Bobb and Echeverr added a goal each. Pep Guardiola took advantage of the opportunity in this and the Wydad game to give playing time to youngsters. At the same time, formerly injured standout Rodri is slowly getting up to speed, adding an assist.
They will need to win this game if they want to finish on top of Group G. Otherwise, they will have to face off with the winner of Group H. The latter is very likely to be Spanish giants Real Madrid.
