Denmark - Scotland Match Preview and Betting Prediction

Denmark and Scotland are playing their match for the 1st round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualification Group C, at Parken, in Copenhagen.

Facts About the Match

  • Denmark has won two of the three official clashes between the two (and one draw), while Scotland has won both of their friendly games.
  • Only one of their five matches ended with Over 2,5 Goals, and the same game was the only one with BTTS coming through. Low-scoring duo.
  • Scotland has won five and lost five in 2025 (6-6 goal difference), keeping two clean sheets.
  • Denmark suffers from lots of ups and downs in performances against nominally weaker teams.

Betting Tip: Denmark - Scotland

Taking into account the two teams’ history and playstyle, we expect a low-scoring affair. On top of that, the game will be the opener for Group C of the qualifiers, and neither team will be too eager to risk starting off on the wrong foot. That, coupled with Scotland’s defensive prowess, leads us to Under 2,5 Goals.

  • Betting tip: Under 2,5 Goals
  • Odds: 1.82 (at the time of writing)
  • Stake: 4

Denmark

Denmark will be fielding a team with all their stars, looking to pick up where they left off in the June friendlies. Then, the Scandinavians defeated Lithuania (5-0) and Northern Ireland (2-1) at home.

Earlier in the season, they fell to Portugal in the quarter finals of the Nations League final stage, on a 5-3 aggregate score (won 1-0 in Denmark, lost 5-2 in Lisbon). So far in 2025, they have won three games and lost one, with a 10-6 goal difference.

Their home away loss came in November 2024 to Spain (2-1). Since then, they have won all three of their games.

Scotland

Scotland is a team that is attempting to combine elements more akin to traditional British football with more modern aspects of play. The team relies heavily on Scott McTominay on the attacking side, and, despite having a defensive-minded approach, they have failed to keep clean sheets regularly through 2025.

In the League A qualifiers of the Nations League, the Scots fell to Greece over two legs (0-1 away win in Athens, 0-3 home defeat in Glasgow).

Before that, the team was fresh off their disappointing play in Euro 2024. They finished last in their group, drawing one game and losing two. In the Nations League, despite winning games over Poland (2-1 away) and Croatia (1-0 at home), they were unable to save the day and will now participate in League B of that competition.

They have won all of their past three away games, keeping two clean sheets and scoring seven times. They are in the qualifying group with Denmark, Greece, and Belarus.
