Betting Tip: Bournemouth - Aston Villa

One is in the mix for a top-8 finish, the other for a Champions League spot. Therefore, a must-win for both. There is not too much separating the two sides, as both play attacking football and have issues at the back, making it likely for this to go with BTTS.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth are picking up steam at precisely the right moment. This game is on the home field, and the 8th place is within reach, something that Bournemouth will definitely strive for in the remaining three games of the season.

It will take a few more resilient performances, as their schedule is rather tough. The first of those came at the Emirates, facing a distracted Arsenal between their two Champions League legs with PSG.

The Gunners took the lead in the 34th minute, despite Bournemouth’s earlier missed opportunities. Still, Bournemouth managed to equalise through Huijsen in the 67th minute, while Evanilson gave them the lead and the eventual win just eight minutes later.

That was a huge win and a promising performance ahead of the remaining games. Bournemouth is showing that they are the team that impressed everyone for a good chunk of the season.

The upcoming games against Aston Villa at home and Manchester City away will be challenging. Defensive consistency is of paramount importance, alongside precise finishing. The latter has been a recurring issue for Bournemouth this season.

Aston Villa

Villa earned a hard-fought, crucial 1-0 win against Fulham a few days ago, and they are ready to give it their all until the end, in a fight to secure a spot that will lead to a second consecutive Champions League appearance. At this stage, they are somewhat of an underdog for that, but they are not without their chances

The upcoming game against Bournemouth might be the most competitive of their three remaining ones, as Spurs and Manchester United have nothing to play for and high Europa League ambitions.

Three wins in three games is not an unlikely scenario with these opponents, but it won’t be easy. Villa certainly needs them to have a shot at meeting its target. It will take consistency, focus, and avoiding silly mistakes - and they did all that against Fulham in the previous round.

Unai Emery’s players did not allow Fulham to take control of the game or create opportunities, and they managed to keep their first clean sheet after seven games in all competitions. Youri Tielemans scored the winner early on after a McGinn corner, while Watkins and Mallen missed big chances to add to the lead.
