Affiliate Grand Slam featured a series of well thought out conferences and startup pitches that ran across the 2-day event, gathering thousands of like-minded candidates - content marketers, conversion optimisation and lead generation specialists, media buyers, affiliates, SEO gurus, and influencers. The brand’s first international expo was held on the 25th and 26th of May, with the Dubai summit welcoming a strong crowd to the Intercontinental Dubai Festival City. Moreover, alongside AIBC, the company’s emerging tech-focused event, the AGS Europe expo brought some of the top creators, thought leaders, and policymakers to its stages, expo floor and judging tables. Most importantly, all contributors were able to hear more about the latest trends in affiliate marketing and make new connections. On this occasion, we spoke to Eman Pulis (Founder of SiGMA) to hear what he had to say regarding the famous AGS. With the Affiliate Grand Slam being behind us, successfully held, what are your first impressions? We were delighted to have received such a good turnout! Holding the event alongside AIBC has also illustrated the many benefits of cross pollination between the two sectors, doubling opportunities and enhancing the experience for investors and operators. It is this success we hope to build on this November for Malta Week, where we’ll host 4 events; SiGMA, AGS, AIBC, and Med-Tech World.Did the event fulfil your expectations?Absolutely, we are always conscious of maintaining the high level of quality our events have become known for - and thanks to a dedicated team, we were able to tick all the boxes when it comes to a great show.As you mentioned earlier, the AGS gathered 150 speakers, over 4,500 attendees and 150 exhibitors, but what were some of the most attended sessions of this event? We had a great line-up of panels and keynotes, including top-notch speakers, so it’s easy to see why people made a beeline for the stage. Our Pitch competition also generated a lot of buzz, with Hayi winning for a strong presentation which focused on building strong communities and making connections between neighbourhood stakeholders. The attendees had a unique opportunity to connect with some of the leading affiliates, policymakers, thought leaders, suppliers, and operators in the industry. What do you think participants liked the most about the conference? The diversity of guest speakers and a carefully crafted agenda meant the conference was able to offer a truly in-depth look at the industry - bringing something of interest to everyone. What were some of the topics that were discussed? We looked at everything from opportunities across the Middle East, digital brand strategies, to the use of SEO, tech to increase competitiveness and emerging markets leading the conversation. We also brought crossover opportunities to the table with panels on crypto and its potential to shake up the way we market new products. Can you please share some other conference highlights? At their core our events are all about great networking, we also held some great evening events for delegates throughout the 3 day show with a series of relaxed dinners offering our delegates, speakers, and exhibitors a chance to come together and celebrate new partnerships and old friendships. What’s up next - what is the next iGaming event that we can all look forward to?Malta Week this November should be on everyone’s event calendar. We’re holding a 4-show week in Malta, bringing gaming, emerging tech, digital marketing, and medical technology together in a first-of-its-kind super event. See you there!

Although the main purpose of going to the casino is to have fun, there are certain rules every gambler needs to follow to make this experience enjoyable as much as possible. In case you’ve never been to a land-based casino before, you’ll need to learn some basics on how to behave once you find yourself in that situation. So, we’re here to help you out, and we’ve prepared several casino etiquette rules that you should know before entering a casino.Dos: How You Are Expected to Behave in a CasinoIf you usually access your favourite online casinos via your desktop or mobile phone, you may not be familiar with how one should behave at brick and mortar casinos. But, hey, do not worry - you'll learn the subtle Vegas dos and don’ts of betting in a land-based casino in no time. It’s pretty normal for every casino to have cameras all over the place, as well as security guards walking around, so don’t let that scare you. That’s standard for every casino and you’ll get used to it. Once you enter a casino, all by yourself, try to behave in such a way that no one notices you’re a newbie. To start off, here are some simple casino etiquette rules you can follow:#1 Dress ProperlyIf you want to fit in – dress for the occasion! It doesn’t mean you have to go to a shopping mall and spend a fortune on “adequate” clothes, just get an appropriate outfit. In other words, plan your casino outfit and try to appear semi-formal.#2 Be Polite to Dealer and Other PlayersNo matter if you’re winning or losing, keep in mind that you need to be polite. We all know how easy it is to get carried away, so watch your behaviour towards other people at the casino. In case you’re winning, try to keep your voice down, and, if you’re losing, be cool and stay calm.#3 Know the RulesIt would be appropriate to wait and watch a few hands of any table game before you sit down and play. That way, you can pick up on some basic casino etiquette rules and come up with your own strategy. After all, it will lead to a much better atmosphere when you are finally ready to sit down and play. Then, make sure you’re aware of the minimum and maximum bets of each table, as they will differ.#4 Know Your Casino LingoAfter knowing how to dress, and getting the hang of the game you want to play, you’ll need to work on your gambling and casino terminology and vocabulary. Especially if you're a newbie, using casino jargon can impress your game-playing friends, plus, it can add a unique quality to your next casino experience.#5 Know Your Chips and How to Handle ThemWhen playing roulette for instance, the dealer will give you and other players a specific colour of chips and that is to differentiate your chips from everybody else’s. Just focus on each round, know your chips, and be sure to exchange them in between hands and not during a play.#6 Know Your Cash Ins and Cash OutsTo buy chips, never hand the dealer cash – just lay it on the table in front of you as you sit down. Then, once the dealer changes your money for chips, pay attention to the colour of the chips and think where you want them placed for a bet. Don’t be afraid to ask the dealer if you need help; at least you won’t end up losing bets by placing chips in the wrong place.Once you’re ready to cash out, give the dealer neat stacks of chips, let him count them and change them in. Casino dealers usually prefer for players to trade in smaller denominations of chips for large ones, so try to remember this casino tip to show your gambling expertise.#7 Understand Hand SignalsWhen playing at certain casinos (Blackjack especially), it wouldn’t be enough to learn the verbal commands - you'll need to master your gameplay by also using hand signals to show how you want to play your cards. It’s not that hard though, depending on whether the cards have been dealt face up or face down.Once the cards are dealt face up, you should tap the table for “hit” and wave your hand over the table (with your palm open) for “stick.” And, if it’s “double,” you need to place your matching bet next to your original bet and hold up one finger. For “split” use the same action with two fingers. In case dealt cards are face down, you should use your cards to lightly scrape the corner of the cards for “hit” and slide your cards underneath your bet for “stick,“ using one hand only. “Double” is for cards face up on the table and placing an additional bet next to your original one, while “split” is for placing the bet next to one of the cards instead. In case you have two fours or two fives, hold up one finger if you are doubling, and two fingers if you are splitting.#8 Know Who to Tip and HowTipping is not mandatory, but of course it would be much appreciated. How much you’re going to tip is entirely up to you; however, there are certain norms. For example, at US poker tournaments a standard tip is 3%, whereas in the UK, it is accepted that you give around 10-15% of the total amount of your buy-in. For land-based casinos in the US, it’s perfectly fine to tip the dealer $1 on every small win or give $5/10 when you leave the table. Also, if you tip your waiter or waitress, that way they’ll keep coming back. But, keep in mind one thing – at some places they may not allow you to put the drinks on the table.#9 Put the Money on the TableWhen you want to buy more chips, put the money on the table instead of giving it to the dealer directly. He or she will then take it and hand you the corresponding number of chips. Be sure to know how much money you can afford to wager and lose, in order to avoid stress.#10 Have Table MannersIf you want to order a drink, make sure you signal the host or hostess. There’s no need to go to the bar; just signal them and they’ll bring you drinks, some of which will be on the house. In most brick and mortar casinos players are allowed to drink and eat. At some places you may be asked to use cup holders, to avoid spilling drinks. As for the food, it may be a good idea not to eat smelly meals, because you don’t want to spoil the focus of other players. Also, you may want to avoid ordering greasy food, as that way you won’t stain the chips with grease!#11 Respect the Time of Other PlayersOf course, you go to a casino to have a great time and maybe even make some life-time memories, but be mindful of the other players and dealers by not spending too much time making a decision. Focus on the game and make your moves accordingly.#12 Check Whether Smoking is AllowedIn case you are a non-smoker, we recommend you follow signage requesting non smoking areas and tables. For smokers, however, the good news is there are casinos that allow smoking in specific areas, while there are always some places that totally forbid smoking near the slot machines.#13 Keep Your Cool - Be Gracious in DefeatAs it's totally ok to feel aggravated after a heavy loss, it's also unavoidable because it’s part of every gambler’s life. Blaming a dealer or a rigged game are extremely unlikely to be true, and no amount of grumbling will change the outcome of a game. So, be gracious in defeat – don’t throw away the cards or storm out of the casino, as it will make you look like a bad loser and unwelcome guest at the casino.#14 Enjoy the gameAlthough it may seem a little too much at times, when at a casino you are supposed to have fun, so relax and take it easy. Remember to have a good time and, in case you are a newbie (do not worry!), think about it this way - every player had to start somewhere. Whenever in doubt, ask in a polite manner, scan the table for the appropriate time, and you will be fine.Don’ts: What You Should Not Do in a CasinoEven though you are here to have fun, what’s important is that you don't find yourself in an embarrassing situation or, even worse, get removed from the property. So, try to remember the following advice:#1 Don’t Ask the Dealer or Other Player for AdviceDo not discuss your gaming strategy with the dealer or other players, and don’t ask other players for advice at the table. Make sure you are just focusing on your own game without making reactions or discussing your hand while the game is still in play.#2 Don’t Mess with Your Phone or Make Numerous SelfiesNot only is using your phone during the gameplay unethical, it’s also rude to distract other players who are trying to concentrate. In fact, most croupiers will ask you to turn off your phone while playing. In case you really have to take a call, step away from the table between the hands. Leave your selfie stick at home and focus on a game.#3 Don’t Yell or Have Loud ConversationsIt is of utmost importance that you stay calm, and not yell or have loud conversations while playing at a table. Try not to take things personally and yell at the dealer or other players. After your game is over and you leave your table, you can start drinking, yelling, and highfiving each other.#4 Don’t Get Sloppy DrunkAlthough casinos are considered as places where grownups can relax, have a drink or two, and enjoy their time, remember not to drink too much. You don’t want to let the booze get the better of you and make your experience lousy.#5 Don’t Touch Chips Once They’re on the TableOnce you place your chips on the table, don’t touch them any more. There’s no changing your mind at the last minute as that would be considered cheating. So, when you make your decision, stick to it.#6 Don't Touch Cards on the TableCertain card games involve very little interaction with other players, which is why you are not supposed to touch your cards that are on the table. Some casinos may allow you to split your cards yourself when choosing to double down, it’s not always the case. So, the best thing to do is ask the dealer what is acceptable for the table where you’re at.#7 Don’t Take Someone’s PlaceIn case you’re only interested in observing, don’t sit at the table until you’re ready to play, and especially not take some else’s place. If you come to support a friend, stay behind the table. Those seats are reserved for players only. In case you’re still not ready to join, try playing table games at online casinos first.#8 Don’t Discuss Other Players’ StrategyBe mindful of other players and try to respect them. They are all trying to concentrate on their moves so try not to interrupt the gameplay by discussing their strategy. If you must, ask questions between the hands, but don’t discuss a hand or react to it.#9 Don’t Ask Others to Borrow You MoneyProbably the biggest advice we can give you is to not borrow money from other players. If you want to gamble, plan and manage your budget wisely, and know how much you can afford to lose. It’s extremely important to know when to stop.Dos and Don'ts of Online Casinos and Live CasinosAlthough the casino etiquette rules at brick and mortar establishments may be known to most players, there are no strict guidelines for players who decide to join online casinos.Yes, you do have to read the terms and conditions of each casino and yes you do have to be aware of gambling and casino terminology, but there are so many perks when playing from the comfort of your homes. Whether you are an experienced player or a newbie, as a guest at a casino, you’re expected to dress a certain way. Now, not every casino has a specific dress code, more and more land-based gambling establishments are requiring that guests wear certain casino clothes. As some gambling establishments feature dark wood-panelled cathedrals with marble stones and huge halls, others look like some roadside stores with only a couple of aisles of slot machines, so in that way, the casino outfits will very much vary.If you see a casino scene in a gambling-themed movie, you’ll notice everyone is perfectly dressed in designer tuxedos and expensive dresses. But, we’re all aware of the fact that it is not what you will see when you enter some random real casino combined with a hotel or a restaurant. Casino dress codes are totally different nowadays and have become more relaxed over the past decades. With all that in mind, we’ll go through casino outfits and explain the process of preparing and dressing for the gaming floor, just in case you ever wonder what to wear in Vegas.History of Casino Dress CodesThe modern casino dress code is an old habit dating back to centuries ago. Even nowadays, chances are you will find certain brick-and-mortar high-class casinos that you won’t be able to enter unless you adhere to their strict rules of dressing.Throughout history, in order to maintain a common casino environment for clients, regardless of their social class, a common dress code had to be respected and maintained, as well as adhered to by each individual.Back in the 60s, the casino games were generally connected to the rich class, so players were supposed to show their riches through their attire. Clienteles were limited to wearing a more formal dress code that obliged them to wear black ties. What to Wear to a Casino?Whether you are gambling in Las Vegas or any any of the popular gambling capitals, you should know that each casino has its own dress code. Still, it is always a good idea to visit the websites of the casinos you are interested in, and figure out the rules and the atmosphere prior to going to these places. Also, depending on what you plan is and what kind of games you want to play – sitting at slot machines or playing table games against other people – different casino outfits may apply.Especially if you already know which casinos you’re going to visit, take a good look at their guidelines and they will help you choose the appropriate casino attire. That way, you’ll know what to wear to the casino so that you’re not turned away at the entrance. Here’s an example of what you can wear:A pair of khaki pants or some nice blue jeansA pair of loafersA conservative button-down shirtTruth be told, the majority of present-day casinos are just casual places. In other words, if you’re staying on the general casino floor, in most cases, their staff won’t even care how you’re dressed as long as you are not trying to enter the casino’s VIP section, since special sections of the casino require a certain kind of clothing. It’s perfectly okay to dress for comfort, but in case you’re going out and you plan to be out much past 6, perhaps you should dress up a bit. If you’re a boy - choose a button-down instead of your t-shirt and, if you’re a girl, slip a sweater over your shoulders to go with your cocktail dress. Also, adding nicer shoes is always a good choice. You can keep it casual, but be aware that being dressed properly for the occasion is part of good casino manners, as we've shown in our casino etiquette guide. What Not to Wear to a Casino?Although the majority of land-based casinos don’t normally exclude gamblers if they’re not dressed to the highest degree, these places certainly discourage super-casual dressing. As most places may require you to be more formal, these are some tips in general that will save you from making any major mistakes when it comes to wearing appropriate casino attire.Don’t wear dirty or torn clothingAvoid wearing flip flopsIf it’s late afternoon, or evening, don’t wear shorts or sweatshirtsIf you’re looking for some high-dollar casinos, or willing to access VIP lounges, definitely avoid casual clothingDo not appear in overly revealing clothing, clothes with offensive images or slogans, or anything that can be used to cover your appearanceOf course, depending on what your plan is and what kind of casinos you want to visit, different dress codes may apply. In case you don’t feel like dressing up, you can always look for online casinos and play from the comfort of your home.Casino Attire Guide: Western Dress Codes Required by CasinosJust like every gambler should be familiar with casino terminology, they may as well get acquainted with what kind of dress codes are required by casinos. According to the descriptions of appropriate attire on the casino websites, we’ve prepared a list of clothing items that you may want to bring along if you’re planning on visiting a casino.Luckily, different casino games don't require particular attire, you just need to make sure you're following a few simple rules.CasualWith casual dress today there is no direction, no predefined set of rules about what you should or should not wear. By definition casual means - relaxed, informal, spontaneous, comfortable - suited for everyday use. For men, it is always a good choice to wear a casual button-down shirt and jeans. Women have more options, as long as their shirts are not low cut or too revealing. It’s a perfect opportunity to show off your style - pick cute separates like a skirt, put on a short-sleeve shirt, and add some nice jewellery or scarves (even hats!) to match with some unique shoes.Business CasualBusiness Casual attire can imply different things in different companies, depending on the cultures, cities, and even industries. If you are not sure what to wear, it's better to stumble on the side of dressing too formally, than too casually. It’s always a good option to go with a sweater, a shirt, a belt, some dark shoes, dark socks and khakis. An appropriate business casual outfit for a woman would comprise a skirt or dress pants, blouse, sweater, stylish trouser suit, and jacket with closed-toe shoes.Business FormalBusiness formal clothing is probably the highest level of professional attire. To be more specific, a business formal look requires a suit, while a business professional looks with work-appropriate clothing items. Clothing needs to be ironed, straight, neat, to make a professional, “business formal” impression.Semi-formalSemi-formal attire is clothing that is classier than what you'd normally wear to an office, but not as elegant as a formal evening gown or tuxedo. This type of attire is somewhere between casual and formal, so perhaps you better clarify what is meant specifically if you aren't 100% sure.Black Tie OptionalBlack tie-optional by definition means one should wear a tuxedo or dinner jacket where black tie is requested. However, guests have the option to wear a dark business suit in case they choose to do so. These kinds of events usually take place in the evening, just as standard Black-tie events do. Women, on the other hand, might want to choose a long flowing chiffon dress or stunningly printed tea length cocktail dress.Black TieKnown as the semi-formal Western dress code, Black Tie originates from the UK and the US conventions for attire, from the 19th century. The dress code is meant for men to wear tuxedos and for women to wear floor-length gowns. More precisely, for men, Black Tie dress code may require several things like – a black bow tie, a white dress shirt, a waistcoat, a cummerbund, a tuxedo jacket and patent leather shoes. As for women, Black Tie cocktail dresses – long dresses or skirts – usually remain the safest options, alongside jewels with plenty of sparkles. The dress does not need to be black and mustn’t be too short.White TieWhite Tie is usually required for major prize ceremonies including dinners or noble events. For women, a White Tie dress code can mean only one thing – a long, floor-length evening dress, sometimes it may require long white gloves and small purses, and sophisticated jewellery. For men, however, the White Tie dress code means they are expected to wear a white shirt with wing necklines, shirt buttons and cufflinks. At certain times, this may even require gloves, white or grey, plus a white vest with a white bow tie. Of course, black leather shoes are a must.Differences Between Day and Night Outfits in a CasinoDaytime casinos usually have more casual dress code in comparison with the expected night outfits. If you are planning on visiting a casino during the day, wearing a casual outfit like jeans or trousers with a sports t-shirt is doable. Once the sun sets, you’d be expected not to wear shorts or t-shirts, so just choose a button-down or collared shirt instead. If you want to get into a nightclub, the dress code may be different than at the casino, so do make sure to check in advance what the atmosphere is like just to avoid waiting in a long line only to be rejected on your way in. Of course, the more classier a casino is, the nicer you’ll need to dress. How to Dress When You Gamble: Quick and Dirty TipsWe know you would want to be perfectly dressed for the occasion and atmosphere, so try to imagine how you would dress if you wanted to go to a fancy restaurant, a nice bar or to an art gallery.
