What Is Underdog?
Underdog Predict is a prediction market product that users can find as a part of the Underdog Sports app. The company is Brooklyn-based, offering sports betting, fantasy sports and, as of recently, prediction markets.
Underdog Predict officially launched in September 2025, offering various types of prediction markets to its customers, but focusing mostly on sports markets. Most of these markets are about sports that are popular in the US, but the offer is constantly expanding.
Underdog doesn’t have a website, and it’s only accessible through a mobile app. More details about what markets you can find in the app will follow later in this Underdog prediction market platform review.
Is Underdog Legit and Secure?
Underdog operates its prediction market platform legally as it is CFTC-regulated through a partnership with Crypto.com Derivatives North America (CDNA). It is not available in all 50 US states, so you will need to check availability in your state. For Canadian fans, it only allows access to the Drafts portion of the app.
Even though the Predict product is new, Underdog has been around for more than five years now, giving it plenty of time to attract customers. It has proven to be a legit company, offering fantasy sports betting and prediction markets.
The company implements all necessary security measures to keep its customers’ data safe, and there haven’t been any major incidents regarding the company's security and trustworthiness.
How to Sign Up and Get Started
Underdog Predict is in the same app as the other Underdog products, so if you are already a user, all you need to do is find the prediction market section and get started. If you haven’t used the app before, these are the steps to follow:
- Download the app for your phone and install it. Remember that there is no desktop version for Underdog Predict or any other Underdog products, so click on the link above to begin the process.
- Create your account. Follow all the steps, provide all the requested information, including the final four digits of your SSN. The operator needs it to verify your identity.
- Verify your account. You will also need to verify your email address and phone number during the process.
- Fund your account. Use one of the available payment methods to deposit funds into your account.
- Pick the markets to trade on. Navigate to the section hosting the markets you wish to trade on, select what you wish to purchase, and you are ready to trade.
Available Markets and Event Types
As a fantasy sports platform above all, the Underdog Predict product also focuses primarily on sports markets, particularly US sports markets. In states where sports betting is illegal, but prediction markets are available, the variety of markets is great.
Apart from the regular winner markets, point spreads, and futures, users can predict a player’s number of points and other individual statistics, as they would when betting on player props in a sportsbook. This is a cool addition to the other sports-related Underdog markets.
All the markets work on the same binary contracts principle. You can buy a Yes or No contract, depending on your prediction for that market, and their prices add up to around $1. For example, you can buy a Yes contract (or multiple contracts) for $0.45 and later trade them, or wait for the outcome.
Underdog also offers entertainment markets, such as Oscar predictions, Grammys, and similar, but you can also trade contracts on politics, the economy, crypto prices, and various business events.
Fees and Payouts: What Does It Cost?
Underdog charges a flat fee of $0.02 per contract for all contracts that you buy. It is a one-off fee, and the operator will not charge you again when the market gets settled or if you trade your contracts.
For example, if you buy 100 contracts priced at $0.36, you will need to pay $36 plus the $2 fee. If you later sell those contracts for $0.46 a piece, you will make $46, leaving you with an $8 profit.
However, if you decide to wait until the market settles, and the outcome is in your favour, you will get $1 per each winning contract, meaning you will make $62 from your predictions. This entry fee model makes it easy to predict costs and potential profit, as there are no additional fees later.
User Experience: Platform, App, and Interface
As we have already mentioned, Underdog doesn’t have a website, and you need to install the app to use Underdog Predict. If you already have the Underdog Sports app, you just need to navigate to the Predict section and set everything up there.
If you haven’t used the app before, you will need to install it first, create your account, and then proceed to the markets offering. We tested the app for you, so read on to learn more about what you can expect.
Customer Support
The app offers a comprehensive FAQ section where you can find answers to the most commonly asked questions. If you still need help, customer support is available via live chat or email, so you can choose your preferred method of communication.
When you open the live chat, your first point of contact will be the chatbot that answers the most common questions users have. If your answer is not there, you can get in touch with a support agent, but you should note that the wait time will depend on the time of writing.
The agent we chatted with was very helpful, although our questions were quite simple, but it shouldn’t be any different with the more complicated matters.
Deposits, Withdrawals, and Payment Methods
Underdog Predict is a separate product from the fantasy and sports products, so you will also be using a separate wallet for predictions. You can fund your account using a debit bank card, Apple Pay or Trustly. The minimum deposit is $10.
Since other products allow the use of additional payment methods, we expect those to become available for Predict as well in the near future.
Withdrawals offer a bit more flexibility when it comes to the options you can use, and apart from Apple Pay and Trustly, you can also use Venmo, PayPal and Paysafecard. The minimum withdrawal is also $10.
Final Thoughts: Who Should Use Underdog?
If you already use the Underdog betting app, adjusting to the prediction markets product shouldn’t take too much time. Since it is a CFTC-regulated platform, trading on the Underdog exchange is safe for all users, whatever the volume or type of contracts they purchase.
Looking at the offer right now, the Underdog prediction market platform still focuses mostly on sports markets and probably provides most value to sports traders. However, the offer has improved significantly since the beginning of Underdog trading, so we expect the market variety to become even greater.
The platform is still not available to crypto users, but they have other available options in the US market. The choice of fiat options is also quite limited, but since other operators’ products have a greater variety, we expect that to extend to Underdog Predict as well.
