Overview of Christmas Big Bass Bonanza Game
Pragmatic Play’s Big Bass Bonanza has been one of the biggest success stories of the last few years, and now it’s back with a festive edition. It’s an ice-fishing game complete with festive tackle boxes, fish in Santa hats, and other Xmas fare. The Bauble is the biggest symbol, but the Wild also plays a massive role, as it can substitute for all of the main game symbols. There are 10 slot paylines and they all pay from left to right.
Christmas Big Bass Bonanza RTP, Payout, and Volatility
At 96.71%, the Christmas Big Bass Bonanza RTP is a little above average. The volatility is rated as medium to high, and at 2,100x, the game’s maximum payout is somewhat disappointing. There are lots of big possible payouts that promise to return hundreds of times your stake though, and most of these are available during the free spins, discussed further down in this slots review.
Christmas Big Bass Bonanza Graphics and Gaming Experience
A happy tune plays as bells jingle and water splashes. The grid is somewhat static, but it’s clean and the reel separators take the form of bubbles from the deep that rise to the surface. It’s pleasant and it’s fun, but if you’re not a fan of the merriment of Christmas, you might want to hit that “mute” button in the bottom left.
Christmas Big Bass Bonanza Bonus Features
You’ll notice that many of the game’s symbols display a monetary value, and they always seem out of reach, whizzing by the reels without triggering a payout. That’s because the values only apply during the free spins feature. Speaking of which…
Christmas Big Bass Bonanza Free Spins
3 Scatters awards 10 free spins on Christmas Big Bass Bonanza slots, but each additional Scatter will give you another 5 spins. The Money symbols display values of between 2x and 2,000x, and you collect them by revealing Wild symbols.
Every Wild that you reveal is collected and stored until the end, and every 4th Wild gives you 10 more spins. The multiplier for Money symbols also increases when you retrigger the feature, going to 2x for the first retrigger and 3x for the second. This doesn’t apply straight away but takes effect at the end of the current batch of spins.

Summary of Christmas Big Bass Bonanza—It’s all about fishing for those free spins
The free spins feature is definitely the star of this slot, as it is on many slots with bonus rounds. Not only can you scoop up to 20 spins, but the Money symbol feature means you could find some impressive fish at the end of your reel. The maximum payout is on the low side at 2,100x, but it’s still a huge sum. And let’s be honest, if you’re looking for big possible payouts, you’d be better off with progressive jackpot slots.
To learn how to play Christmas Big Bass Bonanza or just enjoy a few spins, play the game in demo mode. It’s free and there is absolutely no risk. You won’t win any real money, of course, but you have nothing to lose either.
A slot from Pragmatic Play based on a fishy theme but with a mix of Christmas thrown into it, and is one of Pragmatics slots with a 5 reel, 10 lines, 3 row variety. It comes with the same low 0.10 per spin minimum as the original Big Bass Bonanza and max of 250.00. This is based on slot that started all the big bass games but it comes with the Christmas theme.
The slot has the feature free spins game where you once again need 3 or more scatters and you get which is what this slot is all about really and that requires just 3 scatters to land on the reels, the more you get the more spins you start with as all good slots have this design to reward those extra spins to start with. Three scatters starts with 10 free spins, 4 scatters starts with 15 spins and 5 scatters starts with a whopping 20 free spins. During the feature you will want to get Santa fas many times as possible as that will send you towards the upper levels and each level has an increased multiplier. Level 1 starts with 1x and then level 2 has 2x, and level 3 has 3x and then the final big level is the 10x multiplier. Each new level gives you 10 extra spins. Each time Santa shows up he gives the ho ho ho.
The sound, music is once again great from Pragmatic, it has the base game sound effects that have that water sound and the music for the base game, and then the usual pragmatic win sounds, and the feature has it’s own music as well with a more faster beat to it. Because this is the Christmas themed version of Big Bass you get the Christmas music in both base and feature and in my opinion it is better than the music in the original. Pragmatic knows to use different music for different themes and they once again do a good job in making suitable music for another of their slots.
During my real play I managed to get the free spins feature 4 times, the 4th being the best at 63.5x. It took me almost 500 spins and thus average of 121 spins per feature and would you believe that the slot is design with a 1 in 113 free spins feature frequency same as the original Big Bass Bonanza so my slot play on this slot was not far off the 1 in 113.
If you like to skip the base game nonsense then you will know that this version of Big Bass has the bonus buy option for 100x your stake. But I would rather play it normally without doing any bonus buys as most of the bonuses you get will be well under your 100x stake.
As for the RTP that is with this slot, it is available on its highest RTP of 96.71% but also on lower RTP such as 94.62%! I played it on the 94.62%. I would still recommend to play it on the higher RTP tho so try find a casino with the highest RTP but sometimes you can only play it at the lower RTP. If you have the option of playing this or the original Big Bass then just play the Christmas cause you also get the option of bonus buys on the Christmas version and the music is better too.
I have been playing it on the 94.62% version and perhaps I should just find a casino that has the higher RTP version to get a better experience but also it has to be said that most features will be around the 50x average or lower, my features averaged at 34x.
There are plenty of dead spins in the base game as well and sometimes rarely a good win shows up in the base game, the best base I had was 25x and that was in almost 500 spins played on it.
The max win potential of this slot is still only just 2100x same as in the original Big Bass Bonanza, so the only change they did was give it a Christmas theme and add the bonus buy option to it.
