Skulls UP! is a pretty good looking game with interesting and entertaining elements that offers a pretty decent gaming experience. The game is highly volatile with 96.26% but fairly disappointing max win which is capped at x3650. Admittedly, from a game like this, we expected a bit more, but it still it’s worth a shot.
Looking at the icons in this Skulls Up game, a few of the characters look very familiar indeed. They look almost like those in NetEnt’s game of Hook’s Heroes, and also as in a few other games as well. They aren’t really the same icons of course, but at first glance, they do look similar. This is one of those games that start with 5 reels and 3 rows, but can expand up to 6 rows, giving 1944 ways to win from the initial 243 ways. With a minimum starting bet of only 10 cents, this should be popular with small budget players indeed. 243 ways to win games would usually require a minimum starting bet of 25 cents or 30 cents, so if this aspect doesn’t interest you, then just too bad, hehehe.
The Wild symbol is a non-paying symbol unfortunately, and it comes in two versions, a regular Wild and a Flaming Skull Wild symbol. If no new Flaming Skull Wild symbol appears anywhere on the reels, that reel goes back to 3 rows. This feature is also available during the free spins, and it is this feature alone that can give good decent wins, although big wins are really a no-no in this game.
The Chest is also a non-paying symbol, the second “argh” from me, and awards 6 Flaming free spins, but with no win multipliers at all. Make that a longer and a big “aaargh” from me! Why? Just 6 free spins and without any retriggering or win multipliers, how much can such a feature game ever pay? The symbols win values simply aren’t good enough to provide good wins, never mind big wins, so you would need to get a win on as many paylines as possible. An all-same-symbols win would pay a good win, but I really don’t know if this is possible or not, because the symbols are not always stacked up. On top of that, opening up the 6th row would award 2 additional free spins, but this alone is totally insufficient to extend the free spins play.
Nonetheless, Skulls Up is actually quite an interesting game to play, for a short while at least, until the low payouts begin to lose hold of your interest.
