I like games based on Robin Hood, although none of such games have ever become one of my favorites, but nevertheless, my eyes were caught when I saw this game Sheriff Of Nottingham from iSoftBet.
Upon glancing through the win values of all the symbols and the available features, I then decided to give it my first try out. I have not liked any of iSoftBet games so far, but that hasn’t stop me from trying any of them out at least once.
The fatty Sheriff (he must have been having a damn good life back then) is the Wild symbol, 5 of which would pay a decent 20x the total bet. The Bonus symbols are non-paying, only serving to activate 8 free spins with up to 5 synced reels but without any win multiplier. The Merrymen symbols are also non-paying, but getting any 5 of them would award the Sheriff’s Wanted Respins. There is also a randomly activated ‘Pick-a-letter’ feature during the base game play to award either a Bonus Add, a Win Spin (similar to the Sheriff’s Wanted Respins feature) or a Sheriff’s Wild spin. Out of this three, I prefer the Sheriff Wild spin which can award 1 up to 5 Wild Reels, whereby 5 Wild Reels would pay the maximum possible win of 500x the total bet.
The Sheriff’s Wanted Respins feature plays slightly differently from the usual Respin feature that is typical of Pragmatic Play games. 3 free Respins are given, with each new landing Merrymen symbol resetting the counter back to 3. However, if a Sheriff symbol lands, the counter is also reset to 3, all the win values of the landed Merrymen symbols are collected into the Sheriff’s symbol, the Merrymen symbols are then removed, and the respin would recommence. This is a nice surprise from the usual play, I must say, giving extra respins with each new appearing Sheriff symbol, thereby giving more winning chances for a bigger win.
The Bonus Add spin, on the other hand, can be very disappointing most of the time, because the third Bonus symbol doesn’t always land on the reels, and many a times this feature would pay absolutely nothing! I got this zero-win about 5 times in a row before finally getting a Bonus game. However, a zero-win can also occur in any of the other two ‘Pick-a-letter’ feature spin, but the 8 Bonus free spins with its synced reels have not disappointed me as yet – it has always given a win, although nothing that big.
This Sheriff Of Nottingham game is not a high variance game, but it can indeed provide some fun time playing it, as I have found out on my first session.
