Remember the Goldilocks slot from Quickspin provider, which was an old one? Well, years later they decided to make a clone of the slot. Now we all know the Goldilocks and 3 bears story, right? Well, I have to admit, it seems polar paws is the same storyline as ice bears and the elf. And we know those small little ones – They tend to steal or take away, and I am sure the same story follows.

You have 25 paylines to win, with a good paytable not the best, but I guess with wild multipliers, up to x4 is good enough, especially when you reach the maximum stage in the free spins feature.

You get different Polar bears including the baby and 2 different wild symbols. The regular wilds do it job, wild the multiplier wild increases the multiplier for that win. The Elf is scatter and only appears on reels, 2, 3, and 4.

I did not like the whole Quickspin bonus setup. Back in the day, you know 3 bonus symbols on the middle reels trigger bonuses. And those times all their offerings were low variance and great for bonus wagering at the same time.

The game wins often, maybe 6 or more out of 10 spins, to be honest, so you have some fun and can crush wagering easily.

Landing those 3 Elfs awards 10 free spins. The aim is to collect as many scatters as possible and all polar bears would eventually turn wild on level 3. With the multiplier is your way to big wins. I think 5 kinds of wilds pay like 16x, but if you take that x4 multiplier, that is 64x which is still good.

I like this slot and use it for a balance builder and to win some small cash may be to get cash out or quickly complete the last wagering. Do not expect to hit a home run, as this will never happen in this slot.

Polar Paws is a 5 reel and 25 payline slot from QuickSpin that was released a few years ago. As the name suggests, the game is inspired by a snow theme and is one of the slots that could be classified as a Christmas themed game. I'm personally not a fan of festive themed games but Polar Paws has a cute design and it's a game I don't mind playing from time to time in the Christmas season.

If you're familiar with QuickSpin slots, you'll notice that this game is a copy of their game Goldilocks and the Wild Bears. In fact, both the base game features and the bonus round are identical, and I personally wish that Polar Paws would have some additional unique feature, as I'm not a fan of slots that are simply a reskin of an existing game.

That being said, I think it's a decent mid-volatility game. In the base game there's a multiplier wilds feature- if you get wilds on a certain line, they can have up to 4x multiplier. I like this feature as it helps getting decent base game wins. But again, I haven't had any base game wins in excess of 100x bet, but it does give frequent 20x-40x bet wins which helps to keep the balance steady.

Then there's also a free spins bonus round, which is triggered when you land scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4. For that you get 10 free spins and you'll need to collect more scatters to upgrade the polar bears into wilds. There are altogether 3 stages- for collecting 3 scatters one of the bears will become a wild, then for collecting 5 more scatters another bear will turn into a wild and give you 2 extra spins. Lastly, 5 more scatters collected will turn the last bear into a wild and give 2 more free spins. Then there's also the wild multiplier feature- the same as in the base game- so with all the different wilds you could be looking at some good wins.

That being said, I've managed to get to the last stage multiple times and turned all the bears into wilds, but even then, the wins are rather low. I've had a few wins around 200x-300x bet but nothing even close to 500x bet and more. But I also haven't had any major losses on this game, so I believe it's a mid-variance game.

Overall, I do enjoy this game, especially in the winter season, but it's definitely not my favorite from QuickSpin. I do enjoy the bonus feature as there's a chase element to collect the scatters and turn bears into wilds. But unfortunately, I haven't seen any other player getting a win close to 1000x bet or had any big wins myself. So if you're looking for a game with a huge win potential, I don't think Polar Paws is the one.

Not many of Quickspin’s games have a starting bet of 10 cents per spin, my favourite bet size, due to my very small playing budget, and this Polar Paws game starts with 25 cents instead, which I don’t quite like at all. Nonetheless, I closed one eye, made a deposit, and gave the game one try anyway. Yeah, for trying out sake, I would usually do that, but never on a regular basis.

Polar Paws looks interesting enough, with very nice graphics and pleasant colours, and with a cool snowy environment too. Well, but of course, you can’t expect to see a polar bear in a hot climate can you? Hehehe. The game plays with 25 lines, has multipliers of 2x, 3x or 4x, but the win values of all the symbols aren’t that good, unfortunately. The Wild symbol is the highest paying symbol, paying 40x for getting 5 of them, providing a maximum win of 160x with a 4x multiplier. Yeah, that’s not even good enough to give good wins, but that’s how this game is. The other regular symbols pay from 10x down to 3x, and the Elf symbol is a non-paying symbol, appearing only during the free spins, to convert one Bear symbol into a Wild symbol, one at a time.

There can only be 3 Scatter symbols on the reels, paying a win of 3x the bet amount, and awarding 10 free spins that cannot be retriggered. Damn, not my favourite kind at all! During the free spins, each appearing Elf symbol gets collected into a meter, and when the meter is filled, that Bear symbol becomes a Wild symbol for the remaining free spins. The win multiplier increases with each appearing Wild Multiplier symbol for that current spin only, and resets back to 1x when no new win is encountered. Once again, I don’t like this, because the multiplier should remain for the rest of the free spins. After all, the multiplier can only go up to 4x, so what’s the big deal in not doing so?

Honestly speaking, the base game play can be quite boring, as I have found out, and only the free spins could give some light entertainment and fun. Light, because no big wins or excitement is possible, and the multipliers are way too small and hard to increase too. Perhaps this is a low to medium volatility game, so if it isn’t your kind of game, then better skip this Polar Paws and play some other better paying game.
