I first came to hear about this game many years ago, from a friend, but I wasn't really interested in Microgaming games, so I never bothered about it. Then I heard about it again, this time in Askgamblers forum, about 3 years or so ago, and that caught my interest a little bit. Not a lot though, just a little bit, but enough to make me play on the game for the first time to try it out. Was it good the first time? Well, for some other thing, the first time is always the best, hahaha, but where Octopays was concerned, nah, it wasn't that good. I didn't win anything that time. Only after several more plays on the game did I finally made my first small win on Octopays, with a 100+x bet win. Since then, I did play Octopus on and off, not often, but rarely.

Octopus is the Wild symbol in the base game, appearing only on reels 2 and 4, and triggering the Kraken Feature game when both appears. It's a Free Spins game by another name. What disappoints me the most is that this Wild symbol is a totally dumb Wild symbol. It doesn't pay for itself, it doesn't double any wins, it doesn't become stacked, it doesn't expand, it only substitute other symbols except for the Kraken symbol. Worse still, there are no Scatter symbol in the game, thereby losing even more winning chances. No wins for Wilds. No wins for Scatters. Sheesh! As for the other symbols in the game, the Chest pays 26.6x the total bet, the Diver's Helmet pays 20x, the Shark pays 13.3x, the Anchor pays 6.6x and the rest pay from 5x down to 3.3x, all per total bet for 5 of each kind. Sad to say, but Octopays has a very low paytable, and that doesn't look good at all to me.

When the Octopus lands on reels 2 and 4 at the same time, the Kraken Feature game is triggered. 12 free spins are awarded but without any multiplier. Each free spin may get up to 4 Octopus Wilds randomly placed onto the reels, except on reel 3, where the Kraken may appear. All wins with the Kraken Wild are doubled, but all wins with the Octopus Wild are not doubled. The Free Spins game cannot be retriggered. What the argh! This Free Spins game, without any multiplier , without any retriggers, and with only 1 win-doubling Wild symbol, makes for an uninteresting feature game. Very disappointing indeed!

Just as I had expected, the very low paytable, plus the poor winning chances in the Free Spins game, all added up to disappointing game plays. From the many Free Spins games that I had won and played so far, not one single win was above the 100x bet mark, excluding my earlier 100x win some years ago. Although some decent wins of 30x - 50x could be won, those simply weren't good enough to compensate for all the lost money the game had eaten up. Nosirree. Since this is a 243 ways to win slot I had, not very high, but I had some expectations from it. This turns out to be a very boring slot, and not impressive at all. The payouts during the base game are not that impressive. I wanted to see the free spins round because usually games can surprise you during the free spins. But, I have lost almost all of my money and there was no sign of free spins. So I thought I will continue playing the game even though I will not win anything. It was so obvious. The octopus symbol appears only on the second and the fourth reel and the free spins are triggered only if these two symbols appear at the same time. At first I thought it would be easy to trigger the free spins since all you need are two scatters, but no. It took me more than 400 spins to trigger the free spins. I got 16 euros in one spin and all of the other spins were empty. I triggered the free spins again and got only 32.80 euros.

Later I was getting free spins more often but I was not able to return all the money that I have lost while playing this slot. I did play on a min bet per spin, but still this is so little. My balance was dropping so fast so eventually I was moneyless and I could not continue playing the game. I do not think that I will play this video slot game again because there are so many games that are more interesting than this one.

Octopays is great game made by Microgaming. I play it sometimes because I love how this game looks.

I like how this game looks, and also I really love theme. Ocean, and those cutest things in the world - octopuses(very small octopuses!). I sometimes love to see on youtube on some animals, and few times I saw octopuses, this creatures is really cute.

I like that there is 243 lines, but it is a bit different from regular games. There is no huge payouts on symbols, there is no stacked or expanding wilds. Very easy to play without praying for wilds. Wilds by the way here appears only on reels 2 and 4.

I like freespins feature. It is triggered when wilds on reels 2 and 4 appears in same time. For this you got awarded with 12 freespins. During freespins big octopus or kracken or how to call this big a bit scary creature add on reels more wilds on any reels, just by random. Also there can appear fish on reel 3 which also wild and multiply wins by 2. Very decent feature, couple of times I won more than 100 bets on it.

Normal play seems not so great, and I never wins more than 20 bets in it. But such wins come really frequent and did not allow game to steal lot of money from balance. Feature seems the key to hit something good. I rate this game with 9 stars. There is only thing I will list in thumbs down. But overall it is very good game.

I took one star from rating because payouts during normal play is very low and you can't get any really super mega big win. Just many small wins which can be good and do not allow you to lose fast, but time after time and I got tired from such small wins.

At base game there is no any special feature. There is wilds on this slots, but wilds appear only on reels 2 and 4, and do not have any special feature, and do not have any multipliers. Also due to low amount of wilds, base payouts are very good and big, top paying symbol paying something like 150 x total bet if I remember paytable of this game without any mistakes.

There is special freespins feature at this slot game, it can be triggered when wilds land on reels 2 and 4 at same time. 12 freespins awarded, and freespins are awesome feature here. First of all, before start of each spin big cracken can place up to 4 wilds on reels. At 243 lines game it can make really good payout. Also at reel 3 can appear special fish, which is also wild and has 2 x multiplier. So generally, while playing freespins you just need to get 4 wilds, and hope for a fish at middle reel - this will give awesome payout, due to good payouts of usual symbols, and due to 2x multiplier.

My experience with slot is great, I played it a lot times, and have many features more than 100 x total bet. Best one was about 350x total bet, and it is still not perfect result, but very good. I never saw 4 wilds placed during freespins, but many times has 3 wilds plus special fish on middle reel. I like this game, and it is great to enjoy it, one of the best microgaminmg 243 lines game, if exclude the dark knight, immortal romance, and thunderstruck II.

This is another 243 ways to win slot from Microgaming, the minimum bet is 0.30 euro and I played it a couple of times. I want to say that I like the symbols of this slot, also the theme is very interesting and entertaining. With 17 euro left in my 32Red Casino account, I opened this slot and I started to spin. The Kraken feature appeared very early, only a couple of minutes passed, I was awarded 12 free spins, I was expecting to win a small amount because I trigger it too early, but no, it gave me a decent win of 26 euro. About 30 minutes later, I triggered again the free spins but this time gave me only 11 euro and my account balance started to decrease. There is no bonus game in this slot, so you have smaller chances to win decent amounts, also there is a wild symbol but it appears only on reels 2 and 4.

I didn’t like that they chose to put poker cards symbols in this slot, the theme was great but I think that these symbols haven’t got their place here. I will give a 9 for the graphics, I will play this slot more often because I am tired already to play Immortal Romance and Thunderstruck II and to not win something.

The features aren’t so good because there is no bonus game or a random feature as the Immortal Romance or other 243 ways slot have, only a wild that appears only on reels 2 and 4 and doesn’t pay so well, I will give only a 7.

The payout rate isn’t so good, only 4 symbols are paying well in the main game, the other ones, the cards symbols are paying small amounts, I don’t like it so I will give only a 6!

Conclusion: Really great game, with interesting feature, and medium variance. It is always nice to give this octopuses few spins, and few times they save my balance from zero result. I recommend this game and i give it 9 stars, almost 10, but 10 only for legends :)

I played it for around an hour but won only one the kraken feature(free spins) and few small 3 of kind wins.There was a lot of empty spins that brought nothing and the free spins i won did not payed closely enough to get me to stay on octopays slot.

Free spins are triggered when you get octopus on reels 2 and 4,you get 12 free spins and during them a little tentacle comes out and places octopus wild on different reels except on reel 3. If the octopus does not pay it swims away.On reel 3 ugly fish may appear and act as wild and if you have it together with octopus in a wining combination they get inked and multiple win by 2. I had no luck in free spins and that octopus always landed where it did not complete any win and just swam away after.

Other then kraken bonus there is no other cool bonuses on this slot so it is pretty boring to play it for a long time.I guess it is for those people who don't really care about bonus features and just want to win base game wins.I am definitely not among those people and i like slots that have many bonus features to keep me entertained and focused to keep playing it.

For my conclusion i will rate it in my 3 categories.First payouts did not impress me at all(could be just my bad luck though) and i rate them 6/10,second fun i had playing on this slot rate is 4/10 and the last win big with small bets i rate 5/10

Octopays is a way wins of 243 paylines video slot. I appreciate the background and the light music Microgaming made for Octopays but to tell you the truth I don't see myself using this for wagering requirements or playing it for hours.

One thing I know is it got me very bored to start off and the closest wins I have received had been only for 4 of a kind combinations on base game. The 5 of a kind cannot be seen in this underwater adventure when I placed it for $0.90 bets. I tried to play it for 20 minutes more then I started to lower my bets to $0.60. There are much more pays appearing in this bet including the scattered wild octopus. That is one of the things that made me disinterested in the slot...it is because there are just two wilds on Reels 2 and 4 that occur typically almost never. The wilds aren't all over the place to create winnings easier.They act as both the Scatter and Wild of Octopays. Microgaming should of at least made these wild octopus' stacked. I know it's probably easy for the trigger but had they thought of two more wilds attached at both ends of this octopus it can be easy to make winnings and produce a feeling that I may or may not hit a home run on the trigger. Just a broken part of stacks showing on both reels of 2 & 4 would make hitting the trigger effortless at least by 40%. That's the idea I would want on this slot to say the least. Wild and scattered octopus' are always hiding in the dark and most likely in each spin I made I would have to line the combinations naturally without the assistance of wilds. Many other successes can overpower Octopays because they do so well at paying in the main game and have a HIGHER chance of hitting the feature.

The Octopays feature is a very hard to come by Kraken feature that gave me 12 free spins only. It featured wild octopuses on random positions to create winning combinations.....they aren't held sticky for the duration unfortunately. When there is a symbol of an eel on Reel 3 it gives not only a substitute win of 2x but if I find there are octopuses on the reels, these orange fellows produce ink that doubled the win I have. I only had $31 total from 12 Free spins and this trigger took 45 spins before I can get it. I don't really like to bash a slot since every user has different experiences with one mainly due to the luck element. However, Octopays must be one of the most boring slots I've ever played. However, those experiences weren't reflected by Octopays at all. I've played this game with a bankroll of 400 euros on 90 cents bets. The minimum bet size on this game is 30 cents by the way.

The game features several fishes and treasures you would be able to find in the deep ocean. On reels 2 and 4 the octopus symbol appear. These two symbols trigger the free spins if they appear at the same spin. You would think it would be easier to trigger the free spins, since you only need 2 scatters.

However, it took me like 800 spins to trigger the bonus feature. During my game play I did have lots of smaller wins though of 20x, 30x bet size and that was prolly the only reason why I wasn't close to go bust. Anyway, when those two scatters appear the Kraken feature gets triggered which is 12 free spins and random wilds that can be placed on reels 1, 2, 4 and 5.

Unfortunately all I won was small combinations and the symbols that got turned wild didn't have a huge effect on my winning. I won like 40x bet size during free spins thanks to x2 multiplier.

Quite shameful considering I had spent like 340 euros on it to only win 36 back. Well, that's just sometimes the way it is. Needless to say I never played this game again after this mental and financial catastrophe lol.
