I have been searching for one really good game on King Arthur, but to date, I have not come across even one. Microgaming’s Avalon and Avalon 2 came quite close, but were still short of my high expectations. When I saw this Legendary Excalibur game by Red Tiger Gaming, I was immediately drawn to it and wanted to give it at least one good try, hoping maybe this would be the good one I am searching for. Well, I wasn’t far wrong.
Although the paytable and the win values of all the symbols are not as what I has expected, but I later realized the true capability of this game. Getting 5 Wilds or 5 King Arthur would pay 500 coins, or 50x the stake amount, which isn’t a lot really, so that’s where the disappointment lies. The other symbols would pay from 200 coins down to just 20 coins, or 20x down to 2x, so that’s not good either. This game isn’t a high volatility game, as far as I can see it, and the maximum possible single win would only be 500x the stake amount. Not really that good but it could still give a mega win nevertheless.
The most disappointing aspect of this game is the absence of a free spins feature game. The one and only feature available is the Excalibur Sword feature, a 1x3 size (full Wild Reel) symbol that can randomly land on any reel at any time, and trigger one Raining Wilds free spin. Yep, this spin has Wild symbols raining down onto the reels, from 2 to maybe 5 or 6 Wilds at a time, so the more Wild symbols it rains, the better wins become possible. If 3 Wild symbols land into one single stack, that reel then becomes a full Excalibur Wild Reel and retrigger one more Raining Wilds free spin. So, it does seem possible to eventually get all the 5 Excalibur Wild Reels for the maximum single win. Unfortunately though, these Wild Reels do not carry any win multipliers, neither do any of the Wild symbols, so there can be no boosting up of the wins, which really is a shame. Otherwise, this Legendary Excalibur game can indeed be amongst the best games to play!
In my first ever play session, I had a pretty good and interesting time on the game. Although the absence of Free Spins Scatter symbol was evident during my play, but that magical Excalibur Sword did appear on and off, keeping my interest and excitement going. Finally, one of the Raining Wilds free spin created one Excalibur Wild Reel after another, but stopped short of creating the fifth one. Nonetheless, there was one Wild symbol on that first reel and that contributed to a good final win of 290x. I had missed the maximum 500x win on that day, but maybe I would get it on some other day. Yep, this King Arthur is going to see more of me in the future, hehehe.
