There are not many games themed on frogs and the existing ones aren’t that popular either. This Fire Toad game from PlaynGo looks attractive enough to make me want to try it out and I did. Not once but several times, just to reconfirm my expectations of the game.

Straight out, I would say that this is one low-medium volatility game from PlaynGo, which is a rarity. Most PlaynGo games are of the high volatility kind and that’s why they are very popular with slotters. If you’re one of those players who want nice big wins, then skip this Fire Toad. No point in wasting time and effort, only to find out that what I say is true.

Nothing in Fire Toad can actually create big wins! There are no Wild symbols, the Firefly Scatter symbols are non-paying, all the symbols in play have extremely low win values, and worst of all, there are no win multipliers at all to boost up the wins! Now all these are very disappointing indeed, but like I’ve already said earlier on, don’t expect big wins from this game!

What the game offers is a Symbol Upgrade feature, both in the base game as well as during the free spins. The lower Toad symbols get upgraded to the next higher symbol with each consecutive win, up to becoming the top Fire Toad symbol. This upgrading of Toad symbols is available only once in the base game play, but continues on until no new win appears during the free spins play. Sounds interesting enough, but the payouts have always been very disappointing. Wish there are multipliers in play, or at least a fixed multiplier for the free spins, as in almost every other free spins feature game. There are none, and so are the thrilling moments.

Why PlaynGo even bothered to create such a game, I really don’t know. I’ve never seen any screenshots or videos of big wins on this Fire Toad game anywhere, and my best win on it after many plays is only 83x my bet. Most of my other wins couldn’t even make 30x, and that is not good at all! Nonetheless, Fire Toad do and can give some fun playing moments, and that’s about all.
