Ankh of Anubis Slot is a 576 payways video slots with a 3-4-4-3 reel format that is powered by the Play'n GO software. The diamond shaped grid slot is based around the mystical ancient Egyptian world and the mighty Anubis is the God of the Dead. He is the main focus of the game and is armed with a mighty power that can grant you the chance to win a share of his gigantic fortunes. You can play the Ankh of Anubis Slot for free here at AskGamblers or head to your favourite Play’n GO Casino to try it with real money.
Learn How to Play the Ankh of Anubis Slot
Before you can take a share of his pot you will need to learn how to place your bets:
Coin denominations can be set by clicking the +/- values or selecting the amount from the values available. This will then form your total bet per spin
Hitting spin will set the reels in motion
If you get tired of spinning the reels you can also take advantage of the games autoplay feature
Slot Features
The game is not packed with features but still has massive potential compared some of the providers other games. There is an Anubis Wild feature to increase your chances of winning but the main focus of the game is its free spins.
Anubis Wild
The God of the Dead is the main character of the game and Anubis also features as the Wild Symbol. Big wins can be delivered during base game spins thanks to this symbol and it is randomly triggered so it can appear at any time. Once triggered it will add more wild symbols to the reels and can also appear stacked as 1, 2, 3, or even 4 symbols high.
Free Spins
If you hit the games free spins, you could really send your winning potential rocketing. Free spins are triggered when you land 3 or more of the Pyramid Scatters in view anywhere on the reels. If you land 3, 4 or 5 Scatters you’ll win 10, 15, or 20 free spins respectively.
What makes these free spins so appealing is that you can potentially enjoy an unlimited amount of retriggers. There is just no limit to the number of free spins you can get.
And if you collect 5 Ankh Symbols it will also trigger the Anubis Wild feature to add more wilds to the reels to make up those all important winning combinations. This will happen at the end of every spin and the collection of Ankhs will also be carried over into multiple game rounds during free spins. This will then reset at the end of the free spins round.
Summary
Unlike other Ancient Egyptian slots (and are there are a few) the format of the reels that Play’n GO have taken on this one is what makes it quite interesting. However, what makes this game even more appealing is its high winning potential! You have the chance to win a whopping 15,000x your total bet which is impressive to say the least, considering it’s Play’n GO.
The volatility isn’t as high as their other games either and whilst the possibility of hitting that max bet win is low, it’s not as low as some of their other games, making it a must try game for all thrill seeking fanatics.
Slotters always have a certain kind of relationship with PlaynGo...they either love it or simply hate it...but many are caught in-between, as in a love-hate relationship. I don’t fall into this group though, because I don’t make a relationship with any provider, only with their games. I love some of PlaynGo games but I don’t like most of the others, simple as that.
I have played this Ankh Of Anubis slot many times already but has yet to get any nice big win from it! So how to love this game? The payouts that I have gotten were almost always below 30x my stake amount, very rarely getting any wins of 50x or more. My best win so far has only been 83x, and that, by any standards, is very disappointing indeed. I’ve had much bigger wins on Pimped and Holiday Season, for example, so this Anubis simply doesn’t get my attention or interest.
Why is this so, you may ask. Firstly, the top paying symbol, Anubis, the Wild symbol, pays only 5x the stake amount for a 5-of-a-kind win, which is totally unacceptable and an extremely low one! This is not a Megaways game with over 117,000 ways to win...it only has 576 ways to win! Getting all 18 Wilds on the reels would only pay a 2880x win, yet the paytable indicates a maximum possible win of 15,000x. How can that ever be possible?! A player needs to get this win 5 times in a single feature game, which is again, totally impossible! PlaynGo is pulling a fast one here, as do many other providers with some of their games too.
Secondly, the free spins feature game doesn’t have any win multipliers for the wins, not good at all, but collecting 5 Ankh symbols would drop in Wild symbols onto the reels. Yeah right, and this is supposed to be thrilling and good? No way! Any other game that has 6 or more Wilds on the reels would give a nice big win, but not this Anubis game. 7 Wilds on the reels and it pays only 83x. Sheesh!
Nonetheless, I like the minimum starting bet of just 10 cents per spin, as with many other PlaynGo games, which makes it affordable to many more low roller players. The game is also very nicely presented, although the gameplay leaves quite a lot to be desired...there’s hardly ever any decent wins, except on very rare occasions. So, love it or hate it.
