Lawyer mate. Here, when you get your degree from the university, you need to spend 1 and a half years in a law firm (usually you are not getting paid. Not a single cent! And the chores the firm makes you do are ignominious.  Government loves us you see) and after the internship,  you study for the exams that every intern has to go through in order to get the diploma that allows you to practice law.  What about you?

A lawyer then... Congrats mate! :good:

Me? Well, I'm approaching (slowly of course 🤣 ) my mid 40s, so long gone are the days when diploma-related matters were bothering my mind. :D Which doesn't mean I don't have some of course. Guru-san has a bachelor of Mathematics and a master degree in Information Technologies.

Well here you do your Articles for 2 years as a CA in one of the big law firms and earn around $2000 per month as a CA, once you become an associate, your new salary is around $3500 - $5000, Senior Associate, $5000 - $7000 and Partner - $10 000 or more.

Equity Partners - $20 000 and more, depending on how much they buy in.

I have like over 10 Microsoft Certificates, International Information Technology Diploma, ITIL certs and Mimecast Technical Specialist and Gateway Specialist Certs! Busy with Security at the moment.

seems like a nice job to have there.  Here in order to get such money, you need to have big time courts or have a good name or become a judge or a prosecutor.  Well everyone here is really into information technology! :) You guys are into some deep deep knowledge !

The only real knowledge out there is the ability to educate yourself. That's all the really matters when you're 10+ years into your professional life, believe me. ;)

Part of the 'perks' coming with the 'advanced capitalism' I guess... 🤑

Bulgaria, being a part of the Eastern Europe countries which took the path from 'advanced socialism' to 'advanced capitalism' over night some 30 years ago are now 'enjoying' the fruits of their choice and namely - a health system which is a real 'Frankenstein' and which means if you don't have the money to pay an extra for the 'services and treatment' you got you are dead, literally! Dental help as part of that horrifying health system is just as terrible as the so called pre-hospital and hospital treatment...😡

I used to have the ideals of a young socialist in my early days but now not so much; even work wise, i found myself in constant disagreement with Unions that i used to help out, to an extent i just decided to chuck it. Now, i'm a lot more central than what i used to be 😜

I'll long be worm food before we find a way of making sure we don't have a health care system that only the rich can afford and at the same time, giving people back what, via taxation (if still the case), they pay for.

Or, u say advanced capitalism, i say right wing socialism 😜 Or, if you can't beat em, join 'em.

Other than the system being completely carpeted it's hard to see any light.

Could be worse i guess, could be in that socialist utopia Venezuela

Yeah,  Syriza could well fit into any existing definition for a political direction - left, center, right, ultra left or ultra right... :D

When it comes to the personal 'political navigation' during the last 30 years, yeah, I pretty much fit to your own experience. I guess most of us do once the beliefs from our youth start to mess around with the realities of life (family, job, earnings, house)...

Ain't all modern political parties fitting to that definition? A rhetorical question of course... 🤑

A politician has three pockets...one at left, one at right, and one at center! The center one is the MOST dangerous!!! 🤣

It's increasingly difficult to box folk into one leaning or the other, and actually quite dangerous: i'm probably very left when it comes to things like immigration but right leaning when it comes to economics: i've read manifesto's on both sides and would need to cherry pick elements from both to get to mine.

The UK has a real undercurrent of discontent brewing; similar to that which probably got Trump elected  of folk, somewhere in the middle, feeling as if nothing the parties do/say, helps them.  It's hard not to see it that way when you've a group of folk, especially small business owners, feeling as if the system is skewed to benefit either the wealthy, or those at the other end while they're left in limbo.

My favourite is when you get multi millionaires pretending to be spokesmen of the under classes and folk lapping it up.

It's no different to a slot session - folk want value for what they put in/have taken off them 😛

You reckon Boris johnson will comeback again. The media potrays him like he has already been rejected but then who believes the media.

I think he's probably a placeholder for the likes of someone like Sunak to take over next year.

The Tories, despite all the ***** ups, are still doing ok in the polls and tbh BoJo is still here despite all that and despite all the cronyism's regarding those private sector contracts so i think any media reports, normally left leaning media btw, are probably exaggerated. If he can survive this, he can anything. But you can tell he looks exhausted and frankly, beaten

The alternative is a UK Labour Party that's still fragmented and one which i couldn't trust to run  a Tuck Shop, never mind GDP.

Who'd want it though, with Brexit and the post effects of the pandemic coming up as well, coupled with the Scots wanting a new referendum, it's going to be a very bumpy ride for the foreseeable future.

Then again, i never thought, having seen him on Have i got News for You, he'd be PM, the equivalent of Mr Bean, so i guess all dreams can come true 😛

He's quite the hit with the ladies and is a one man baby making machine, so he must have something about him

Or, power and wealth may have quite the seductivn effect.

If anything, a good advert for kids everywhere; your teachers may have given up on you but look what you can achieve with limited abilities.
