Free play vs. Real play

Erik20

Recommended Posts

Over the course of several weeks, I've have noticed that whenever I'm playing free play in any given casino, (in this case Win Palace, Loco Panda, and Slots Jungle,) I win easily more often that not.  In contrast, when I'm playing for real money, it's like someone flipped on a switch to prevent me from winning.  Usually, I will lose my bankroll quickly, despite using bonuses.  I enjoy gambling, but I'm having a hard time believing online casinos are not rigged.  Can anyone in the gambling community shed some light on this?  Thank you for your time.  Erik20

Hi Erik,

It is difficult, if not impossible, to prove you are right. Since the games are designed / developed to give a house-edge in the casinos favor and you as a player are bound to lose unless you are lucky, stating 'online casinos are rigged' would be a logical result of the casinos betting / payout advantage.

I also sometimes have my doubts about the fairness, but I also realise we are all in the business of gambling. Randomness cannot be predicted. Meaning: we only win when we players are lucky. :sorry:

Best regards,

Hi Erik.

Actually your question is quite an interesting one, but very difficult to answer in the same time. It is also quite complicated as there are so many different aspects of this matter, but I'll try to "shed some light" on it. :)

So, free play vs real play...First of all, it's vital to know what is the reason for this 'free play' (or 'practise play', or whatever other variation you might come upon is a casino) to exist. The main reason is to give the ability to all potential and existing customers to try and practise a bit the casino software for free, before starting to play with real funds. Now, the next logical question would be "Ok, but is there any difference between the free play software and the real one?", as if there's such a difference, then it means all practise would be completely useless. Why useless? Because, if there's some difference, then it would probably be in the pre-defined RTP value and trust me, there's a huge distinction in the results and outcome, generated by a RTP values, even when they differ only by a percent or two. So, here we go to the point, where it is obvious that there shouldn't be ANY difference between the free play and real play, offered by any online casino operator, because the opposite would mean that the casino is trying to deceive players with free play, set to pay much better than the real one! That's why if you ask an online casino "Hey, I want to know if there's any difference between your free play and real mode" you will not find even a single one, which would give you a positive answer. And frankly, I'm inclined to trust most of them or at least to the bigest ones, such as Microgaming, Playtech and NetEnt, because as far as I know none of them would allow or give the ability to any online casino, powered by the relevant software, to change or manipulate the RTP value on its own. Or at least, this is what all these software vendors claim to.

Now, as you are mostly speaking about RTG powered casinos, well, I have to say I'm almost 100% sure that most of them are trying to meet the high standards, set by the aforementioned software suppliers and they do all the best within their powers! ;)

It's crucial to say that most of what we ( I mean online gamblers) know about online gambling industry, comes from many different sources, but unfortunately, only a tiny fraction of it belongs to the official vendors, suppliers and online operators! And that's pity, right?!  Cause it basically means that right now we are just ranting and specualting! :(

Hi, thank you both ValDes and aemakgol for taking the time to respond to my post.  After reading your replies, I'm just not going to worry about this anymore.  I have had some decent wins with Win Palace $1,500, and even a little higher with Slots Jungle.  I'm fine with it.  I only use freeplay when I've lost a playing bankroll.  I'll definitely take advice from the online gambling community.  Hopefully, my cold streak will end soon.  I'm actually very excited about online gambling.  I don't have to drive four hours to get to Las Vegas, stay in a hotel, or go to any of the California Indian casinos.  Thank you both for your time.  Erik20

I agree to Valdes, but in my opinion practice game or free play is just for players warm up advantage like no deposit bonuses they offered. You can play in real play and i don't speculate my best casino. That's why you must choose those best casino because of their high trusted quality try to explore askgamblers forum it can help you and guide you. :)

The fun mode play is only good for getting to know the game,

its features, options, possibilities but nothing more. I consider it's a bad decision

to deposit just because we won big in free play.

Maybe I'm just sceptical or paranoid but I think there's differencies the 2 modes.

Perhaps these are not big ones just something like settings or fine tuning, but I believe

they are there.

My 30000 credits woth.

Only play for free games  at the belle rock casinos.

Been playing at their casinos for quite a while. Epoca, Jackpot City, King Neptunes, Gaming Club, Lucky Nugget and River Belle.

Take my word and do yourself a favor and save yourself some grief. Find any other casino besides the belle rock group, or only play for fun there.

300 spins and no bonus rounds. A regular thing.  Rarely ever win above what you deposit. and I mean very rarely. When you do win it's small potates. They grind it all out of you.

Billy, as far as see you are still mad at all Digimedia casinos. I thought you have already forgot about them but obviosuly you didn't. Anything new on your issue with them?

Hi ValDes.

No, no. Not mad, crazy maybe?

But , that's just my advice. Played many a thousands of spins at them and never win more than peanuts. Just always enough to keep me grinding it in and them go broke. Never once got a decent size win to cash out any $$$.

Sure, at first I could win but rarely more than my original deposit, Then it went down hill from there. Dry spell? Hmmm.

Back on topic. So I play the free games and man oh man what a difference. I just can'y do any wrong on those.

Just sayin.    :hi:

PS. I can't find that old topic on slot tournaments. The search does not work for me.

Cheers!

And cheers to you! :drinks:

By the way, the search is working just fine and I found the topic in two seconds. ;) Here it is - Slot tournaments.

Thanks for the link. Hope to see you over there.

I see where someone talks about having a dry spell.  I feel like I live in the desert with the luck I have at the casinos where I have been playing. :help:

Ahh, the luck of the Irish.

I don't know the stats but I figure there are a lot of slot players who really aren't looking for a life changing win at the slots. Myself, I play for entertainment and would rather have the occasional decent win than play for a 1 in a 5000,000,000 .... chance of a jackpot.

I would like to see the percent of payout for each slot and be able to play the ones with decent payback with more smaller wins.

When the casinos state their payout percent it is the overall percent. I figure my smaller bets and the rare wins on low jacpot payout slot games means low percent payback that is made up in the overllcasino payout when a highroller player hits a wooper of a life changer.

Good publicity for the casino but small bets players soon get tired of losing and move on.

Like I said, it would be nice to know the payback percent of each game. :good:

Hi folks!

As impossible a mission as it may have seemed, I have been collecting illustrative evidences that REAL PLAY IS NOT THE SAME AS FUN PLAY! Yes...it is always easier to win in the fun mode...and I have evidences to show this. See and decide for yourself!

I will be putting up some evidences here, at AskGamblers.com, very soon, in January 2014.

So keep a look-out, stay tuned, and don't get too drunk to miss this!   :spiteful:

Wishing everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS

AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  :drinks:  :clapping:  :yahoo:
