Covid-19: We are all in this together! Check in here every day

Furlough scheme coming to an end soon as well so another mass of redundancies will be coming (don't get me wrong, i don't think they're all COVID related but what the virus has probably shown some places is that they a. don't need certain staff groups or can use alternative means for the same purpose etc - so it's essentially sped the process up: many businesses may let leases on properties run to the end and not renew because of it. Affects town and city centre flows as a result etc.

I'm not opposed to a second national lockwon but they said that it would be like like last time anyway - more of a curfew for shops and pubs that closure. If a second lockdown in October half terms means normality at Christmas I'd jump at the chance.

Neither Boris or the local council will be runing my Christmas anyway. I'm used to wearing these masks now they don't even bother me and if I have to wear them in shops for another year then so be it - I don't really care about that. I just want normality again.

  • 4 weeks later...

I'm going to move the Covid chat back into here guys.

So, it has been confirmed the UK as a nation will enter a second strict lockwon with everything closing expect essential businesses. How our economy will survive I don't know. It will be for a period of 17 days which cannot be extended as they will only see if the circuit breaker works once we come out of lockdown. I think we will see a series of these over the next few months

Tell me about the situation where you are...

Covid-situation in Bulgaria:

- all time high when it comes to new cases stats - no reaction from the government, no lockdowns, nothing;

- March/April 2020, confirmed new cases 20 times less than yesterday - whole country was blocked...

Go figure it out!!! 😠

Have the odd feeling our lovely Europe will soon, very very very soon actually,  will wake up totally blocked again. Anyone fancy a bet about it? I say the total lockdown will happen within the next 2 weeks tops. 😛

Today is the first day when we crossed the 1000-new-cases mark... No one among the official authorities is saying a word about any lockdowns coming in near/not-so-near future... Instead, we are repeatedly explained that wearing the useless masks and keeping some social distance are the ultimate COVID cure... :(

In  Greece we have a 350-430 new cases  everyday, Our government stated that if we reach 700-800 every day, then will we have a lockdown. Some cities though are in a total lockdown due to many cases.

In Bulgaria there are 7 million people so i think that 1000 plus new daily cases means that you need guys to have a lockdown.

Unfortunately, many countries, like mine as well, are acting like nothing is going on, because if we have to stay home etc. the economy will surely collapse.

Except that, Greece has set a new rule to mandatory military service. From January the 9 months military service will be set to 12 months mandatory military service! Guess what! I was set to join the military forces in January, so now instead of 9 months i will be staying there for 12 months, in the coldest they can actually put you. In all of these, there is no measure against covid 19 in the military facilities, so its going to be kinda tough. I remember that Bulgaria had also mandatory military, dont know if its still on..?

None of the Balkan countries could be very proud with the level of professionalism and adequacy demonstrated by their governments when it comes to any tough situation requiring some out-of-the-box thinking and actions. 😠

Huh, mandatory army service, really?! In 2021?! 😮 Now that's certainly going straight to #1 of the most stupid things a Balkan government could do... 😂

was watching some video on youtube about all the stupidity this week

there was a segment showing scenes about how the Welsh supermarkets have wrapped all non essential items in plastic.

later on I went to look for more such videos and found one titled: Shoppers react ANGRILY to Welsh supermarket lockdown rules ANGRY MAN rips open plastic covered items

A video has emerged of a man ripping open the closed supermarket aisles of a shop in Wales. The aisles were closed due to a rule from the Welsh government about people not being allowed to buy 'non essential' items during the pandemic. These include: toys, electrical goods etc.

Haha yes, it’s all over my Facebook! What an idiot.

We have been banned from buying non essential - don’t even get me started on it because that’s all I’ve done all day is rant about it. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

Our First Minister needs sacking!
