Hello, 1 week ago I started playing at wild.io casino and was trying to figure out fastest deposit options. I did BCH and DOGE desposits, they were too slow, so o proceeded with 1000 USD worth of ETH deposit from my Binance account.

I did deposit via pressing on QR code option and scanned QR with my Binance app, and not at any point I could've suspected that it would use wrong network.

Apparently, deep in Wild.io T&C there's a line mentioning that ETH must be sent via ERC20 network only, which is nowhere visible on the wallet deposit page. There are no any links to how to deposit section, nothing also mentioned in the small tooltip section there.

As result, I trusted that QR deposit address would be correct and trusted it , but since it was sending ETH from Binance, it autodetected it as BSC20 and tokens were sent via wrong network.

I contacted support, they opened an internal ticket 6080 and it's been a week without any progress whatsoever. Every time I contacted support, I get same "it's in progress" reply and that's it. According to Binance own guidelines, listed here: https://academy.binance.com/en/articles/how-to-recover-crypto-transferred-to-the-wrong-network-on-binance, it's same wallet address and recovery should either very easy (if wallet supports multi-network) or fairly easy (if not, just needed to export tokens using private key to a wallet supporting BSC20).

I understand that mistakes do happen, and that it's players responsibility to verify everything, but I must mention that lack of guidance in UI in the Wallet doesn't help to avoid such mistakes, especially when you result measures such as QR codes to provide mistake-free environment where you don't have to read all T&C before making a deposit.

It's significant amount nonetheless, which shod be fairly easy to recover, hence I raising the topic here for additional help and attention to speed it up.

Dear audience,

After reviewing the user's case, we have reached the conclusion that the transaction was sent through BSC (Binance Smart Chain) in the form of Binance-Peg Ethereum Token, which is a different currency. We only support ETH sent via ERC-20 technology through the main network and no tokens are accepted.

While our team is still checking whether any action can be done from our side, we recommend the user to check with their wallet provider whether they can assist them with the transactions in question.

The general terms and conditions available publicly on the website state:
"4.2 ETH (Ethereum) deposits and cashouts are made through ERC-20 blockchain technology, and other technologies are currently not supported. Smart Contract is not supported for deposits and cashouts made in ETH (Ethereum) and USDT (Tether USD), and Tokens are not supported when sending ETH (Ethereum) transactions.

Additionally, USDT (Tether USD) deposits and cashouts can be made either through ERC-20 or TRC-20 blockchain technologies, and other technologies are currently not supported. In order to deposit or cashout through one of the available technologies, you must select the technology from inside the dedicated USDT (Tether USD) deposit page. Sending funds through any other deposit address is not supported and the funds will become lost."

I appreciate your reply but not sure how wallet provider can help here - it was sent to your wallet address via wrong network and ETH wallet addresses for BSC20 and ERC20 are identical. Meaning it was sent to your wallet, and if it is not supporting BSC tokens, using private key from the wallet tokens can be exported and recovered. Only party which can help here is your casino.

Dear @aalglatt,

Following a thorough review of this case, we regret to inform you that the recovery of this transaction is not possible, as the token involved is not supported. As outlined in the terms and conditions, we only support Ethereum sent through the ERC-20 network.

Please keep in mind that the currency referenced in your case is not Ethereum but a BEP-20 token named Binance-Peg Ethereum Token on the BNB Smart Chain (BSC). While it may carry a similar name, it is not Ethereum nor a currency supported by our platform.

Below please find a breakdown of the differences:
1. Ethereum (ETH):
- The native cryptocurrency of the Ethereum blockchain.
- Transactions occur on the Ethereum network using the ERC-20 protocol.
- ETH is widely supported across various wallets and exchanges as the official Ethereum currency.

2. Binance-Peg Ethereum Token:
- A token created by Binance on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC).
- It is pegged to Ethereum, meaning Binance holds Ethereum in reserve and issues these tokens as a representation on the BSC network.
- Transactions occur on the BSC network using the BEP-20 protocol, not the Ethereum blockchain.
- It is not the same as Ethereum (ETH) and may not be supported outside the Binance ecosystem.
- While Binance-Peg Ethereum Token mimics the value of Ethereum, it operates on a completely different blockchain (BSC), making it incompatible with systems that exclusively support Ethereum (ERC-20).

The details regarding supported technologies are clearly outlined in our general terms and conditions, which you acknowledged and agreed to upon opening your account. Additionally, the deposit page provides clear instructions to send only ETH (Ethereum), as seen in the screenshot you have shared in this thread.

Given the above information, Wild.io considers this case resolved. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to refer to the provided guidelines in future transactions.

Thank you for your attention.

Best Regards,
The Wild.io Team

Respectfully, whoever suggested that recovery is not possible - did they read this official Binance article https://academy.binance.com/en/articles/how-to-recover-crypto-transferred-to-the-wrong-network-on-binance? It has exact recovery steps for this exact situation (BEP20 tokens sent to wallet only supporting ETH/ERC20).

Dear @aalglatt,

Unfortunately, as mentioned in the previous reply, the transaction cannot be recovered. Inside the public terms and conditions, under section "4. ACCEPTED CURRENCIES", the following is stated:

"Please note that each individual currency can only be sent through its dedicated deposit address, which can be found on the respective deposit page for that currency. Cross-chain transactions are not supported and should not be attempted under any circumstances. Any such transactions will result in the loss of funds and cannot be recovered."

We would have been more than happy to assist with recovery of funds if this was possible.

"Please note that each individual currency can only be sent through its dedicated deposit address, which can be found on the respective deposit page for that currency"

Providing that I did scan QR code from the deposit page to make a despoit, and had absence of any network limitation warnings, it's quite strange to see this argumentation. I think most would assume that if there's no warning saying "ERC20 only" with big red letters on deposit page, it's normal to assume that you have multi-network wallet on your end. It's the first ever time I see a crypto casino which forces users to read obsurce T&C instead of making it simple and warn users via simple drop down / popup of allowed networks during deposit.

Whatever, you can hide behind T&C and blame users instead instead of admitting your UI flop, I simply would take my habit elsewhere.

Dear @aalglatt,

We would like to clarify that the deposit page explicitly states that only ETH should be sent to the provided address. However, as you have confirmed, you sent an ERC-20/BEP-20 token instead.

ETH is the native cryptocurrency of the Ethereum blockchain, whereas ERC-20 and BEP-20 tokens are distinct assets created using specific standards. These tokens can operate on the Ethereum blockchain (ERC-20) or other compatible networks like Binance Smart Chain (BEP-20). They are not interchangeable with ETH.

This can easily be verified by reviewing the transaction ID. Your transaction is on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) network, not the Ethereum network: https://bscscan.com/tx/0x767cee7ee715ae980a67c9acea1f837167e208ad20cf38c5c7f22e229185b22f. If this transaction had occurred on the Ethereum network, it would be accessible via Etherscan.

The token you sent is a Binance-Peg Ethereum Token, which is a representation of Ethereum on the Binance Smart Chain, pegged to the value of the native ETH token on the Ethereum blockchain. However, it operates on a different network (BSC), and native ETH transactions must be performed on the Ethereum network.

If you have any further questions or need assistance, please let us know.

Best Regards,
The Wild.io Team

I am sorry but your reply makes no factual sense and shows that you are just parroting information without understanding anything about an actual issue here. You are accusing me of sending ERC20/BEP20 tokens, while this is just quite nonsensical.

I am attaching screenshots of exactly what Binance shows you when you scan ETH deposit QR code from your casino deposit page. It automated detects this wallet to be BEP20 (Binance Smart Chain) and not ERC20 (Etherium) because as I already explained many times before, wallet address is IDENTICAL for both BEP20 and ERC20 for ETH currency. i did select ETH as currency, scanned your deposit page wallet address and without any further indication that I must use ERC20, went with what Binance suggested because there are multi-network wallets which perfectly support both (actually, even more) types of ETH tokens.

So please don’t gaslight me into doing something I didn’t. I followed badly written Insufficient instructions and lost money because of that, as simple as that.

Dear Wild.io Casino,

The AskGamblers Complaint Team is kindly asking you to provide a detailed explanation regarding the player's last post.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Dear @aalglatt,

Please note that we cannot take responsibility for any suggestions made by Binance during your transfer. Our payment processor, Coinspaid, exclusively supports ETH in its native form on the Ethereum network. For other currencies, different addresses are generated as visible under your account's Wallet, e.g. USDT ERC-20. This is why the deposit page clearly states that we only support ETH. That said, don't take our word for it, you can review your Binance transaction on the blockchain to confirm that the funds were never sent to your deposit address.

The Wild.io Team
